As described herein, the exemplary bottle cap 500 can be configured to be fixed to the bottle. For example, the bottle cap 500 with a tapered opening 560 can be provided with an internal thread 210, as shown in FIG. 2, for screwing on the connection; a locking clamping device 310 as shown in FIG. 3 can be provided, which is configured to interlock with a corresponding circumferential ridge 320 provided on the neck of the bottle 330; or a connection surface 410 similar to the connection surface shown in FIG. 4 can be provided, and the size and shape of the connection surface are suitable for being adhered to the upper neck of the bottle using any technology described herein.

Claims (14)

1. A bottle cap comprising:
a cap configured to be secured to a top of a bottle; and
A flip coupled to an upper surface of the cover with a flexible hinge;
wherein the cover is provided with an opening through a portion of the upper surface of the cover;
Wherein the flip cover includes a protruding seal on a bottom surface thereof, the seal configured to fit within the opening; and
Wherein each of the perimeter of the protruding seal and the perimeter of the opening is provided with a plurality of ridges such that when the flip cap is pressed down on the opening, the flip cap forms a mechanical seal with the top of the bottle cap.
2. The bottle cap of claim 1, further comprising a pull ring disposed on a perimeter of the flip distal from the flexible hinge to facilitate lifting of the flip.
3. The closure as claimed in claim 1, wherein the closure is configured to be secured to the top of a bottle using at least one of a screw thread, a mechanical clamping means or an adhesive.
4. The closure as claimed in claim 1, wherein the closure is formed from a plastics material comprising at least one of polypropylene, high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene or polyethylene terephthalate.
5. The closure as in claim 1 wherein the opening has an area to perimeter ratio of less than about 3/16 inch.
6. The closure as in claim 1 wherein the opening has an area to perimeter ratio of less than about 1/4 inch.
7. The closure as in claim 1 wherein the opening has an area to perimeter ratio of less than about 5/16 inch.
8. The bottle cap of claim 1, wherein the opening has a teardrop shape.
9. The bottle cap of claim 1, wherein the opening has a circular shape.
10. The closure as claimed in claim 1, wherein the opening has at least one of an elliptical or oval shape.
11. The closure as claimed in claim 1, wherein the flip top cap is flush with the top surface of the closure when in the closed position.
12. The bottle cap of claim 1, wherein the flip cap is connected to a portion of the perimeter of the opening by at least one connection point, wherein the at least one connection point is configured to separate when the flip cap is lifted for the first time.
13. The bottle cap of claim 1, further comprising a sealing film adhered to the protruding seal on the bottom surface of the flip cap and the perimeter of the opening, wherein the sealing film is configured to tear when the flip cap is lifted for the first time.
14. The bottle cap of claim 1, wherein the opening comprises a tapered wall extending below the upper surface of the cap body.
