Abstract

Technical Field
The invention belongs to the field of powder coating, and particularly relates to a powder coating composition with a color-changing effect, and a coating using the powder coating composition.
Background
The thermosetting powder coating has the advantages of environmental protection, low energy consumption, convenient construction, no VOC emission and the like, so the thermosetting powder coating is widely used for replacing paint and water-based paint to realize the protection and decoration of various material substrates. People hope to utilize the thermosetting powder coating to realize not only the protective effect on the base material, but also better, rich and gorgeous and changeable decorative effect, and specifically, the color effect of the cured coating can be changed in various ways under different visual angles, so that the surface coating effect similar to 'chameleon' is realized.
At present, some technologies have been used to realize the effect of color change of a coating along with a viewing angle by using bonding color-changing pearl powder, for example, the invention patent of CN111560209A discloses a powder coating with skin feeling and color-changing function along with a viewing angle, the color-changing pearl powder and aluminum silver powder are bonded to powder coating base powder (barium sulfate filler is used, which is white in color) by bonding, and the color-changing effect of the technical scheme is still brought by the pure color-changing pearl powder, so the cured coating film thereof cannot realize the gorgeous and changeable color-changing effect.
The applicant therefore sought a technical solution to increase the level of discoloration effect obtained by the cured coating of powder coatings.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of the above, the present invention aims to provide a powder coating composition with a color-changing effect and a coating thereof, wherein the L value of the powder coating base powder composition is specifically designed, such that the color-changing pearl powder uniformly compounded on the surface of the cured coating film realizes unique flowery color-changing effects at different angles.
The technical scheme adopted by the invention is as follows:
a powder coating composition with a color-changing effect comprises a powder coating base powder composition and color-changing pearl powder compounded on the particles of the powder coating base powder composition through thermal bonding; the powder coating base powder composition adopts a dark color, gray color or black color powder coating composition, wherein the L value of a cured coating film of the powder coating base powder composition is not higher than 35.
Preferably, the powder coating primer composition has an L value in the range of 25 to 30.
Preferably, the color-changing pearl powder accounts for 1 to 5 weight percent of the powder coating base powder composition.
Preferably, the powder coating primer composition comprises carbon black.
Preferably, the carbon black is present in an amount of 0.2 to 2.5 weight percent based on the weight of the powder coating primer composition.
Preferably, the average particle size of the color-changing pearl powder is in the range of 10 to 60 micrometers.
Preferably, the powder coating base powder composition at least comprises 65-90 wt% of polyester resin, 2-15 wt% of curing agent and 0.5-2 wt% of leveling agent.
Preferably, the curing accelerator also comprises 0.2-1 wt% of curing accelerator, wherein the curing accelerator comprises ethyl triphenyl phosphonium bromide.
Preferably, the cure accelerator is in the form of a compounded masterbatch.
Preferably, the acid value of the polyester resin is not higher than 50mgKOH/g, and the detection standard of the acid value data referred to in the present application is ISO 3682-1998.
Preferably, the coating with the color-changing effect is obtained by spraying the powder coating composition with the color-changing effect on a substrate and then curing, wherein the PCI leveling grade of the coating is not lower than 7 grade; the PCI leveling grade is specifically determined by performing visual comparison on a coating film to be tested and a PCI leveling grade comparison plate (0-10 grade) to determine the corresponding leveling grade of the coating film to be tested, and belongs to a leveling grade determination method which is popular in the industry.
The L value referred to in the present application is L value data of a cured coating film detected by a Datacolor colorimeter, the L value data being from an Lab color model and being an International standard for measuring color defined by the Commission International Eclairage (CIE), wherein the L value represents lightness of color, and the smaller the L value, the darker the representative color; the average particle size data referred to in the present application is D50 data obtained by a particle size distribution test using a malvern particle size analyzer 2000.
The application creatively proposes to adopt a powder coating composition with a cured coating L value not higher than 35 as base powder, the base powder is embodied as dark color, gray color or black color, and the base powder under the color system condition is further thermally bonded and compounded with color-changing pearl powder with a color-changing effect, and the applicant discovers after analysis that: the cured coating film with the L value not higher than 35 can efficiently and quickly absorb the illumination of each external wavelength band, so that the color-changing pearl powder uniformly compounded on the surface of the cured coating film realizes unique gorgeous color-changing effect at different angles, and the color-changing pearl powder has obvious difference from the simple color-changing effect of simply adopting the bonding color-changing pearl powder.

Detailed Description
The embodiment provides a powder coating composition with a color-changing effect, which comprises a powder coating base powder composition and color-changing pearl powder compounded on the powder coating base powder composition particles through thermal bonding; the powder coating base powder composition adopts a dark color, gray color or black color powder coating composition, wherein the L value of a cured coating film of the powder coating base powder composition is not higher than 35; preferably, the powder coating base powder composition comprises carbon black, and the L value of the powder coating base powder composition is adjusted in a proper range through the carbon black to ensure that the L value of a cured coating film is not higher than 35; preferably, the carbon black is present in an amount of 0.2 to 2.5%, more preferably 0.5 to 2%, and even more preferably 0.8 to 1.5% by weight of the powder coating base powder composition; preferably, the powder coating base powder composition has an L value in the range of 25 to 30.
Preferably, the color-changing pearlescent powder accounts for 1-5 wt%, more preferably 1-3 wt%, and even more preferably 1.5-2.5 wt% of the powder coating base powder composition by weight; the average particle size of the color-changing pearl powder is in the range of 10 to 60 microns, and more preferably 20 to 40 microns.
Preferably, the powder coating base powder composition at least comprises 65-90 wt% of polyester resin, 2-15 wt% of curing agent and 0.5-2 wt% of leveling agent, so that the cured coating film obtains excellent leveling property; in order to improve the reactivity between the polyester resin and the curing agent, the powder coating base powder composition further comprises 0.2-1 wt% of a curing accelerator, wherein the curing accelerator comprises ethyl triphenyl phosphonium bromide, and as the actual addition amount of the ethyl triphenyl phosphonium bromide is only 0.02-0.1 wt%, in order to facilitate dispersion, the curing accelerator in the embodiment adopts a mixed master batch form, and specifically, the ethyl triphenyl phosphonium bromide and the polyester resin can be subjected to melt mixing to obtain a mixed master batch; further preferably, in order to facilitate the leveling property of the cured coating film, the acid value of the polyester resin is not higher than 50mgKOH/g, preferably, the acid value of the polyester resin is 25 to 45mgKOH/g, more preferably 30 to 40 mgKOH/g; the acid number data detection standard referred to in this application is ISO 3682-1998.
In the specific implementation of the application, a degassing agent, a dispersing agent, a defoaming agent or other auxiliary agents can be optionally added into the powder coating base powder composition; other suitable resin curing systems with similar good leveling properties can also be selected as the main raw material of the powder coating base powder composition, and unique gorgeous color-changing effect can also be obtained and also fall into the protection scope of the application.

The powder coating base powder composition is prepared by the procedures of weighing, premixing, melt extrusion, grinding, cyclone separation and the like of the raw materials, the color-changing pearl powder with the model number of KSL61334M is selected, and the color-changing pearl powder is uniformly and thermally bonded on the powder coating base powder composition particles through a known bonding process, so that the powder coating composition with the color-changing effect is finally obtained.

Comparative example 2: the embodiment of CN111560209A is adopted in the comparative example 2; the PCI leveling grade of the coating is 9, the L value is 65, and the surface of the coating has no gorgeous color change effect as in examples 1-8.
Comparative example 3: the rest technical scheme of the comparative example 3 is the same as that of the example 1, except that in the comparative example 3, the conventional black sand grain type powder coating base powder composition is adopted; the PCI leveling grade of the coating is 3, the L value is 26, and the surface of the coating has no gorgeous color change effect as in examples 1-8.
It will be evident to those skilled in the art that the invention is not limited to the details of the foregoing illustrative embodiments, and that the present invention may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from the spirit or essential attributes thereof. The present embodiments are therefore to be considered in all respects as illustrative and not restrictive, the scope of the invention being indicated by the appended claims rather than by the foregoing description, and all changes which come within the meaning and range of equivalency of the claims are therefore intended to be embraced therein. Furthermore, it should be understood that although the present description refers to embodiments, not every embodiment may contain only a single embodiment, and such description is for clarity only, and those skilled in the art should integrate the description, and the embodiments may be combined as appropriate to form other embodiments understood by those skilled in the art.
Claims (11)
1. A powder coating composition with a color-changing effect comprises a powder coating base powder composition and color-changing pearl powder compounded on the particles of the powder coating base powder composition through thermal bonding; the powder coating base powder composition is a dark, gray or black powder coating composition, wherein the L value of a cured coating film of the powder coating base powder composition is not higher than 35.
2. Powder coating composition with a colour change effect according to claim 1, characterised in that the powder coating base powder composition has an L value in the range of 25-30.
3. The powder coating composition with color-changing effect according to claim 1, wherein the color-changing pearl powder accounts for 1-5 wt% of the powder coating base powder composition.
4. Powder coating composition with a colour change effect according to claim 1, characterised in that the powder coating base powder composition comprises carbon black.
5. Powder coating composition with a colour change effect according to claim 4, characterised in that the carbon black is present in an amount of 0.2-2.5 wt% based on the weight of the powder coating base powder composition.
6. The powder coating composition with color-changing effect according to claim 1, wherein the color-changing pearl powder has an average particle size ranging from 10 to 60 μm.
7. The powder coating composition with color-changing effect according to claim 1, wherein the powder coating primer composition comprises at least 65-90 wt% of polyester resin, 2-15 wt% of curing agent and 0.5-2 wt% of leveling agent.
8. A powder coating composition with a colour change effect according to claim 7, further comprising 0.2-1 wt% of a curing accelerator, wherein the curing accelerator comprises ethyltriphenylphosphonium bromide.
9. Powder coating composition with a colour change effect according to claim 8, characterised in that the curing accelerator is in the form of a compounded masterbatch.
10. A powder coating composition with a colour change effect according to claim 7, characterised in that the acid value of the polyester resin is not higher than 50 mgKOH/g.
11. A coating having a color-changing effect, which is obtained by spraying the powder coating composition having a color-changing effect according to any one of claims 1 to 10 onto a substrate and then curing, and which has a PCI leveling grade of not less than 7.
