4. A magnetic strip or string for use according to claim 1 wherein the solid magnetic particles are sintered neodymium iron boron magnet particles, bonded neodymium iron boron magnet particles or injection moulded neodymium iron boron magnet particles.

The magnetic ribbon or cord of claim 4, wherein the sintered NdFeB magnet particles are ferrite magnet particles, samarium cobalt magnet particles, aluminum or NiCo magnet particles, the bonded Ferro-boron magnet particles are ferrite magnet particles, samarium cobalt magnet particles or AlNiCo magnet particles, and the injection molded NdFeB magnet particles are ferrite magnet particles, samarium cobalt magnet particles or AlNiCo magnet particles.
