With the development of communication technology, a large number of instant messaging terminals form a huge communication network. step 4, after receiving the message deletion request B, the second instant communication terminal firstly judges whether the message to be deleted is a downloadable message, if not, the step 5 is carried out, and if the message to be deleted is a downloadable message, the step 6 is carried out;

In the embodiment, the message deleting request can be initiated only within a certain time range after the message is created or forwarded, and the message cannot be deleted after the set time threshold is exceeded; when the instant messaging system downloads messages in the forms of pictures, videos, files and the like, the terminal application records the downloading path of the messages locally; when the instant communication system executes the message forwarding function, the terminal application adds a forwarding identifier in the attribute of the forwarded message and synchronizes the identifier to the attribute of the corresponding message on other terminals of the user.
