Die Ausbrechwerkzeuge sind sowohl quer als auch in der Höhe verstellbar. Die Welle ist unterhalb der Zuschnitttransportebene angeordnet. Diese Anordnung hat den Vorteil, dass eine bereits vorhandene Welle der Vorrichtung, die normalerweise für die Überholfaltung von Aufrichteschachteln verwendet wird, nun für andere Schachtelformen zum Aufnehmen von Ausbrechwerkzeugen zum Durchbrechen vorhandener Stege, auch Nicks genannt, verwendet werden kann. Die vorgeschlagene Lösung ist wesentlich kostengünstiger, da kein zusätzliches Modul erforderlich ist.
