Zum Serviceangebot vieler Supermärkte gehört es, dass gerade eben vom Kunden erworbene Fertiggerichte an Ort und Stelle mit Hilfe eines Mikrowellenofens aufgewärmt und so essbar gemacht werden. Dabei werden die nötigen Einstellungen am Mikrowellenofen vom Verbraucher oder vom Ladenpersonal von Hand vorgenommen. Dieses Vorgehen bringt die untenstehenden Nachteile mit sich:
- 1. Falls nicht lange genug erwärmt wurde, ist es schwierig die richtige Nacherwärmzeit zu finden.
- 2. Zu langes Erwärmen verschwendet Zeit und Energie und macht das Gericht unter Umständen sogar ungenießbar.
- 3. Sehbehinderte, Analphabeten oder Kinder sind nicht in der Lage die Gebrauchshinweise zu lesen und den Ofen zu bedienen.
