Der spaltartige Freiraum kann gemäss einer Weiterbildung der Erfindung zwischen, entweder dem inneren oder dem äusseren Umfang des Dichtungselementes und dem benachbarten Umfang der Nut vorgesehen sein. Der spaltartige Freiraum ermöglicht die Verwendung von nicht oder nur geringfügig komprimierbaren Dichtungsmaterialien für das Dichtungselement, wobei es sich gemäss einer bevorzugten Weiterbildung der Erfindung um ein Grafitmaterial handeln kann, das höchst vorzugsweise mit einer Metallverstärkung versehen ist.
