Wie aus den Fig. 1 und 2 hervorgeht, weist die bevorzugte Ausführungsform des mit Lebensmitteln, wie z.B. Salaten zu füllenden Behälters 1 eine Ovalschale mit einem entsprechenden ellipsenförmigen Deckel 2 (Fig. 2) mit tiefgezogenem Boden 3 (Fig. 1) auf. Der umlaufende Rand 4 des Deckels 2 ist von einem Schutzelement 6, das den Behälterrand 5 umläuft und mit der Wand 7 des Behälters 1 einstückig ausgebildet ist, abgedeckt so umfaßt, daß die Abnahme des Deckels 2 behindert ist. Weiterhin ist eine Abreißlasche 8 vorgesehen, die, wie Fig. 2 deutlich zeigt, das Schutzelement 6 an einer Stirnseite 32 der Ellipse umfaßt und mit dem Schutzelement 6 über Sollbruchstellen 9 halterungsmäßig verbunden ist. Die Abreißlasche 8 ist in Umfangsrichtung des Behälters 1 perforationsmäßig mit einer zackartigen Bewegung vom Schutzelement 6 abreißbar und weist an ihrer Unterkante 10 eine Auskragung 11 auf, die in eine entsprechende Ausnehmung 12 des Schutzelementes 6 eingepaßt ist und mit der Wand 7 der Ovalschale 1 über Sollbruchstellen 9 verbunden ist. Die Auskragung 11 und die zugeordnete Ausnehmung 12 sind behälterumfangsmäßig so angeordnet, daß sie - gesehen im Grundriß gemäß Fig. 2 mittig zur Hauptachse 35 der Ellipse 34 an der Stirnseite 34 der Ellipse 34 liegen.
