Die Profilabstützungen 11 auf dem Profilabstützungs träger 11 a stützen über die Haltebacken 7 a nach innen überste hende freie Profilenden (gemäß Fig. 7 die Abfallstücke 1′) ab, damit beim Angreifen der Trennmesser 6 und daher beim Her stellen der Schnittflächen 2 gemäß Fig. 9c das Profil der Pro filteile 1 nicht gequetscht wird und saubere Schnittflächen hergestellt werden können und auch ein sauberer Schnitt auf Gehrung möglich ist. Beim Schneiden sind die Trennmesser 6 nicht erwärmt, sondern im kalten Zustand, was ebenfalls das Trennen unter Herstellung guter Schnittflächen begünstigt. Dabei wird der Messerkopf 6 a gemäß Fig. 9c, oberer Teil, zuerst in Horizontalrichtung H und dann in Vertikalrichtung V, gemäß Fig. 9c unterer Teil, in den Zwischenraum zwischen die Halte backen 7 a hineinbewegt. Anschließend wird über den unteren Horizon talschieber die Heizeinrichtung 4 aus dem Maschinenkörper heraus zwischen die Haltebacken 7 a geschoben. Die Verbindungsfolien 3 befinden sich jetzt im Zwischenraum zwischen den Schnittflächen 2 und den Heizflächen der Heizeinrichtung 4. Dabei empfiehlt es sich, wenn auch die als "Schweißfolie" bezeichnete Verbin dungsfolie 3 an die jeweilige Schnittfläche 2 einerseits und an die jeweilige Heizfläche 5 andererseits angelegt wird, was durch weiteres Zusammenführen der Stauchschlitten (bestehend aus Haltebackenträger 10 und Haltebacken 7 a) in Bewegungsrich tung geschieht. Anschließend wird zunächst das Folienzuführor gan 12 abgehoben und dann die Heizeinrichtung 4 über den unteren Schieber in horizontaler Richtung zurückgezogen, während kurz vorher die Zylinder der Stauchschlitten drucklos gemacht werden.
