Drink maker

The invention relates to a beverage maker for preparing or brewing tea, coffee and other infusion beverages (i.e. infusions of various products from the plant world).

The closest prior art could be considered to be the French application FR 2 616 083 from 1987.

Various sieves, strainers and attachments are known for preparing infusion drinks, which are attached to or in a teapot, coffee pot, cup, glass, etc. during the preparation of the drink. The disadvantages of these designs are low intensity and incomplete extraction of the active substances from the starting material, and sometimes inconvenient use.

The invention is based on the object of creating a maker for infusion drinks with which the respective drink can be prepared very effectively, i.e. in a shorter time and/or with a small amount of the respective starting product.

According to the invention, this is achieved by the beverage maker consisting of a container held in a vertical position by a lid.

and closed at the lower end by a sieve, into which a freely sliding piston with a sealing ring is inserted.

In order to shorten the time required to prepare the beverage and/or to save raw materials, the process with the inventive preparer takes place in three stages:

When filling the vessel, the particles to be boiled and filled into the cylinder are intensively rinsed with the hot water.

This is followed by a waiting time (2 to 3 minutes) at the maximum possible temperature, since the vessel is covered from above by the lid and is therefore practically closed.

The particles brewed with hot water are pressed together in the cylinder with the piston and the finished infusion is strained through the sieve into the pot, cup, etc.

The invention will be explained in more detail using a preferred embodiment shown in the drawing. In the drawing:

According to Fig. 1 and 3, a maker for infusion drinks according to the invention consists of a cylinder 4, which is open at one end (“top”) and is preferably designed with a funnel-like extension 4a there, and which is “closed” at the other end (“bottom”) with a sieve 7 so that tea or similar infusion particles 9 are held in the cylinder 4 while the liquid can flow through the sieve 7.

A piston 5 can be inserted into the cylinder 4 from its open side, whereby the piston 5 carries a sealing ring 6 in the area of its insertion end, which is seated in an outer ring groove and seals the ring gap between the piston 5 and the inner wall of the cylinder 4. The piston is preferably designed as a hollow, cylindrical body, which expediently has an extension 5a as a handle at its end facing away from the insertion end.

On the outside of the circumference of the cylinder 4 there is a cover 3 which is designed in the shape of a ring disk with a central opening for the cylinder 4. The cover 3 can be slightly conical and inclined "downwards" (Fig. 1) or "upwards" (Fig. 2), whereby it is particularly advantageous if the cover 3 is detachable - and thus rotatable by 180° (see Fig. 1 and 2) - on the cylinder 4. This means that the immersion depth of the cylinder 4 in the respective vessel can be varied within a certain range, because the cover 3 rests on the upper edge of the respective vessel and preferably sits on the cylinder 4 in a force-fitting manner so that it can be moved axially.

With the beverage maker according to the invention, the drinks are prepared as follows: On a vessel,

For example, if you want to use a cup 1 (Fig. 1) or a teapot 2 (Fig. 2), you put the lid 3 (Fig. 1) together with the cylinder 4 so that the cylinder 4 extends vertically into the vessel. In the lower part of the cylinder 4 there is a wire-woven sieve 7 (Fig. 3), which is preferably held (pressed) in a frame 8 made of plastic or sheet metal. When cleaning, the sieve 7 can be removed from the cylinder 4. The particles of the respective starting material 9, such as tea, coffee or the like (Fig. 1), are poured into the cylinder or onto the sieve. Hot water is then poured onto it to the selected level. The piston 5 is then guided into the cylinder 4. The rubber ring 6 (Fig. 3) in the groove of the piston 5 ensures a certain seal between the piston 5 and the cylinder 4. After 2 to 3 minutes, the piston 5 is pressed down slightly. This compresses the leached tea or coffee particles and the infusion is pressed through the sieve 7 into the vessel 1 or 2 and filtered (see Fig. 2). The drink is now ready to enjoy.

The parts of the maker can be made of glass, plastic, metal and/or other materials; transparent materials are particularly suitable.
