Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device for retaining a shoe on a gliding board. It relates more specifically to the field of snowboarding.
For snowboarding, the user's feet are held together at a board in a substantially transverse position relative to the longitudinal direction of the board.
Unlike alpine skiing, the boots must retain a certain flexibility to reasons of comfort and also driving the board. Indeed, the turns are taken in tilting the body to the front side called 'front side' or to the rear side called 'back side'. These mass transfers are accompanied by forward bending movements of the legs and / or on the side.
During a back side turn, the leg is in rear support on a rigid part which must transmit this effort to the board. It is a part of the fixation which ensures this supporting role back.
For the realization of certain figures and jumps, the user takes body positions very laid down compared to the board. For this, he must be able to flex his legs to the side, that is to say in the longitudinal axis of the board.
An example of a snowboard binding that fulfills the function of retaining a boot flexible while allowing back support and facilitates lateral flexion support given in patent DE-C2-36 22 746. This document discloses a so-called "shell" fixing comprising a sole portion for receiving the shoe which extends rearwards by a heel retention part and on which is articulated a rear support element or spoiler back.
The articulation is directed along a median longitudinal axis of the shoe to allow tilting on the side of the back support element when the surfer flexes laterally.
Italian document MI92A / 01238 presents a retaining device very similar to the the difference is that the joint is made by a rod mounted on a ball joint; back support being made by lateral traction straps.
One of the problems associated with this type of device is that due to the free joint of the rear support element, the flexibility is too important and the user has a feeling unpleasant lack of total lateral support and loss of control when driving the board.
It is also known to make shoes which allow rear support and which facilitate lateral flexion support.
For example, according to document FR-A-2 719 197, a shoe comprises a sole and a collar articulated by a connecting means on an associated part secured to the sole. The connecting means is a pivot whose axis is located in a substantially longitudinal plane of the shoe.
Another example is given by document WO-A-97/32496. This document relates to a soft shoe called a boot. The latter is formed by the association of a rod flexible and a rigid reinforcement frame. The rigid frame of the boot includes a reinforcing lower part surrounding the heel, a reinforcing dorsal part surrounding the region back of the lower leg. The two parts are connected by a narrowed portion which includes a stiffening means, the latter stiffening the portion only during lateral tilting reinforcement dorsal part of the outer side of the boot. So the frame of the boot brings internal lateral flexibility and external lateral support.
One of the aims of the invention is to provide a better compromise between a support for lateral flexion fixation and retention of sensations minimum control and support on the board. A another aim is to promote the return to normal position of the rear support element after a significant bending to help the surfer quickly recover his equilibrium position.
According to the invention, these objects are achieved by means of a device for retaining a
snowboard boot as defined primarily in claim 1, and in
The invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
However, the examples given are in no way limiting and one could envisage various variants producing equivalent results and advantages without going beyond the ambit of the invention.
Figure 1 is a rear perspective view of the inventive retainer.
Figure 2 is an exploded view illustrating the basic principle of operation of the invention.
Figure 3 illustrates a detail of the invention when the device is in position rest.
Figure 4 illustrates the same detail as that of Figure 3 when the device is subject to lateral tilting.
Figure 5 is a view similar to that of Figure 3 according to a variant.
Figure 6 is a view similar to that of Figure 3 according to another variant.
Figures 1 and 2 show a retaining device according to the invention having tightening straps for securing a shoe with flexible upper.
partie 10 est rendue possible par desserrage des vis et soulèvement du disque 11.The device comprises a base 1 in the form of a plate for receiving the
sole of a shoe. It breaks down into a
The
The lateral flanks are interconnected by a
This articulation allows a rotational movement of the support element
dorsal 3 on each side of the device during the lateral flexion of the lower leg.
The
chaussure.According to the essential characteristic of the invention, a reminder means
elastic 4 elastically opposes the inclination of the
The
The mounting of the
Figures 3 and 4 show the operation of the device according to the invention. AT
FIG. 3, the back support element is in the normal position, that is to say not
inclined. In FIG. 4, the back support element is inclined relative to the
Figure 5 shows a variant where the
Thus the advantage of providing a lower hardness on the internal side is thus to facilitate the internal flexion of the leg which in practice undergoes greater inclinations than external side.
tampon 41.On the external side, on the contrary, it is advantageous to have more support to facilitate the
recovery. This support is obtained thanks to a higher grade of the material in which the
limiter ou empêcher l'inclinaison sur ledit côté opposé de l'élément d'appui dorsal 3.In the case of Figure 6, there is provided a stop means 7 located on the side opposite to the side
subjected to the elastic force of the elastic return means 4; said stop means serving
limit or prevent the inclination on said opposite side of the
As an advantageous example, the stop means 7 is located on the external side (EXT) and the internal elastomeric pad (INT). Thus, external support is more solid than in the case of an elastic element to facilitate the revival of the board or to serve as a support in the realization of certain figures for example.
Of course, it goes without saying that the elastic elements can take different configurations. We can thus consider replacing the pads by other means equivalent elastics such as compression springs for example without leaving the frame of the invention.
