Field of the Invention

The present invention still relates to support for computer screens, specially designed to allow mounting the screen on a tabletop or similar, so that the screen is adjustable and foldable on the board.

Background of the invention

Supports for the exposed purpose are already known, which are usually conceived as constitution sets complicated and expensive and that often do not allow a full screen articulation. In this sense they are known supports that are composed of a base that can be fixed to the board a table or similar and by a screen panel that is articulated to the base on a horizontal axis. In certain embodiments the base can be adjustable on a vertical axis, with respect to the tabletop

Both the constitution of the base and the board and fundamentally the means of articulation between base and  board and the possible orientation mechanism of the base on a horizontal axis, are obtained through expensive mechanisms and complicated that make the set more expensive and can present problems of operation.

Description of the invention

The present invention aims at a support for computer screens of simple constitution and reduced cost, which also allows a complete orientation of the screen, both on a horizontal axis and on a vertical axis, as well as the attachment of said screen on the surface of the board, for protection, and all with mechanisms Simple and safe operation.

In the support of the invention the base is constituted by a box of approximately prismatic shape, straight rectangular, which can be obtained based on sheet metal and that this endowed with an external anchor for attachment to a board, on whose anchor the box can partially rotate around an axis perpendicular to the bottom. Superiorly this box it has, from one of its edges, an opening longitudinal, through which the panel partially penetrates screen holder in a portion that is related to the base by means of an axis of articulation parallel to the bottom of the box. Around this axis you can tilt the display panel, leaving the amplitude of tilting limited by the edges Longitudinal opening of the box. These edges will be located so as to allow forward total dejection on the tabletop surface while doing back will allow an angle of rotation of at least 10º.

The box that makes up the base can be composed of a base that defines the bottom and the two walls minors, by a back cover that defines the longitudinal wall posterior and upper base to the aforementioned longitudinal opening, and by a front cover that defines the longitudinal wall anterior to the same opening, all obtained by folded sheet. Through these bearings or bushings shall be introduced the aforementioned pivots, thus defining in a simple way the axis of articulation horizontal.

As for the outer anchor of the box, which it will allow the orientation of the same around a vertical axis, It consists of an intermediate plate and a lower foot. The intermediate plate is fixed externally to the bottom of the box by a central pivot point and has three upper pivots that they pass through arched grooves in the bottom of the box that are concentric with said central pivot point and that will limit the amplitude of rotation of the box with respect to the outer anchor, around the cited central pivot point, which defines the axis of vertical rotation of the box. The foot may consist of a flat piece with radial arms, which is attached and fixed to the lower surface of the plate and that will serve as a means of fixing the set to the tabletop. In addition, both the plate  intermediate as the bottom of the box can have paths wide and coincident openings, for the passage of cables service.

As for the display panel constituted by an anterior and a posterior plate, providing the back plate of side walls, while the plate previous has pins that are attached to the inner surface of the walls of the back plate for fixing by screws or similar The bushings or bearings mounted on the panel will be fixed to the walls of the back plate. The plate previous will have conformations, openings and holes for allow the coupling and fixing of the screen of the computer.

As can be seen in Figures 1 and 2, the support of the invention is composed of a base, which reference in general with the number 1, and by a panel 2 carrier of the computer screen 3. The base 1 is composed of a box approximately prismatic, straight rectangular, and carries mounted externally on the bottom 4 an external anchor 5 by which can be fixed to the support of a tabletop or similar and also allows the rotation of the base 1 around an axis vertical.

The box that forms the base 1 is composed, as best seen in figures 3, 4 and 5, by a base 6, which it forms the bottom 4 and the minor side walls 7, by a rear cover 8, shown in figure 4 and defines the wall longitudinal rear 9 and upper handle 10, and by a cover previous 11, figure 5, which defines the previous wall 12.

The back cover 8 and the front cover 11  they have pins 13 attached to the inner surface of the minor walls 7 of the base 6, said pins and opposite hole walls 14 and 15 for the passage of screws 16 fixing, figures 1 and 2.

The upper base 10 of the box does not reach the  anterior edge, but is slightly distanced from the same, finishing said base in an internal longitudinal flange 16, figure 4.

For its part, the previous wall 12 of the box neither does it reach the defined edge with the upper base, but that is retracted from it and topped off in a tab interior 17. In addition, this anterior wall 12 extends superiorly in angled pins 18 that partially close the upper base 10, jointly delimiting tabs 16 and 17 a longitudinal opening, through which the panel 2 in the base of the base 1. The pins 18 are finished off in extreme portions 19 that are located below the base Top 10 of the box. Lower the anterior wall 12 has of lugs 20 that rest on the bottom 4 of the box.

The outer anchor 5 of the support is composed  by an intermediate plate 22 and a lower flat piece 23 composed of three radial arms.

As can be seen in Figure 6, the plate intermediate 22 has three projections inferiorly 24 in which flat piece 23 is fixed by screws or the like. Of the upper surface of the plate 22 protrudes a central bushing 25 through which said plate is fixed to the bottom 4 of the box by means of a screw that can be inserted through hole 26, figure 3. In addition to the plate 22 there are three other bushings 26, located at the same distance as the central bushing 25, introducible through arched grooves 27 of bottom 4 of the box, which are concentric to hole 26. The box or base 1 can rotate with respect to the plate 22 around the axis defined by the bushing 25 at an angle that is defined by the angular amplitude of the arcuate grooves 27, by the action of the bushings 26. The bottom 4 of the box and the plate 22 also have of openings 28 located in facing position, for the passage of connection cables.

As can also be seen in figure 3, between  inner surface of the smaller walls 7 of the box protrude two aligned pivots 30 defining the axis of rotation of panel 2 screen holder, as will be discussed later.

This panel is constituted, as you can shown in figures 7 and 8, by a rear wall 31, figure 7, and by an anterior wall 32, figure 8, both obtained on the basis of  sheet, like the components of the base of the base. Wall rear 31 has side walls 33, whose surface internal pins 34 are attached that protrude from the wall previous 32, both with holes 35 and 36 facing the fixing screws step. Walls 31 and 32 present lower convergent arcuate conformations 37 and 38, between which are located a bearing or bushing 39, figure 9, which fixed to the walls 33 of the rear wall 31 by screws introdubles through holes or recesses 40. The bushings or bearings 39 have two holes 41 aligned, through of which the pins 30, figure 3, which protrude are introduced of the smaller walls of the base of the base. Also the walls rear 31 and previous 32 have upper flaps 42 attachable with holes 43 for the passage of screws fixation.

As can be seen in Figure 8, the wall previous 32 of the panel presents conformations 44 and holes 45 for a perfect coupling and fixing to screen 3 of the computer.

With the constitution described, by means of simple  folded sheet components conform the base of the base 1 and panel 2 and the articulation between both components is obtained by means of pivots 30 and bushings or bearings 39, also of simple constitution and safe operation. Finally, the orientation of the assembly around a vertical axis is defined per single component, intermediate plate 22 and flat piece 24 that with the way they are related to fund 4 of the box ensure the angle of orientation of the same around the axis vertical, without the need for complicated mechanisms.

Claims (6)

1. Support for a computer screen, consisting of a base that can be fixed to a tabletop or similar, with the possibility of orientation around a vertical axis, and a screen-holder panel that is articulated to the base according to a horizontal axis, characterized in that the base is constituted by an approximately prismatic, rectangular straight box, which is provided at the bottom of an exterior anchor for fixing to a board, whose anchor is partially rotatable with respect to said bottom along an axis perpendicular to it, while superiorly the base has , from one of its edges, from a longitudinal opening through which the screen-holder panel partially penetrates, in a portion that relates to the base by means of the articulation axis between base and panel; defining the longitudinal edges of the aforementioned opening limiting stops of the tilting of the panel with respect to the base in one way or another. 2. Support according to claim 1, characterized in that the box is composed of a base, which defines the bottom and the two smaller walls; by a rear cover defining the rear longitudinal wall and the upper base, to the aforementioned longitudinal opening; and by a front cover defining the anterior longitudinal wall, up to the same opening; arranging the two mentioned covers of pins attached to the internal surface of the smaller walls of the base, for fixing to it by means of screws or the like. 3. Support according to claim 1, characterized in that the outer anchor of the box is constituted by an intermediate plate and a flat bottom foot; whose plate is fixed externally to the bottom of the box by a central turning point and whose flat foot comprises radial arms that are attached and fixed to the lower surface of the plate; said plate having three upper pivots that pass through arched grooves in the bottom of the box, concentric with the central pivot point between plate and bottom, to limit the rotation of the box with respect to the outer anchor. 4. Support according to claim 3, characterized in that the bottom of the box and the intermediate outer anchor plate have matching openings for the passage of connecting cables. 5. Support according to claim 1, characterized in that the horizontal articulation axis between the base and the screen-holder panel is constituted by two aligned pivots, protruding from the internal surface of the smaller walls of the box, and in two bushings or bearings also aligned , which are mounted on said panel, in the introducible portion in the box, through which the aforementioned pivots pass. 6. Support according to claims 1 and 5, characterized in that the screen-holder panel is constituted by a front and a rear wall, provided with side walls and pins attached to the inner surface of said side walls, for fixing by screws or the like, being the aforementioned bushings or bearings fixed on the walls of the back plate and the previous plate presenting conformations and holes for coupling and fixing the computer screen.
