Abstract

1,147,396. Storing liquefied gases. WAGGONBAU DESSAU VEB. 14 April, 1967, No. 17211/67. Heading F4P. [Also in Division F1] A plurality of liquefied gas, e.g., nitrogen, storage containers 13 under pressure have a common valved liquid filler pipe 4, a common valved vent pipe 6 and an end container has a dip tube 9 up which liquid is forced by pressure in the gas space of the container through a valve 10 and sprays 11 to cool the walls of a feed vehicle. Each container is mounted within a heat insulated outer container 1 and the various pipe connections pass through conduits 2 connecting the inner and outer containers. Excess pressure is relieved through valves 8 and the liquid level in said end container is indicated by a member 12. During filling, vent valves 7, 7<SP>1</SP> and filler valve 5 are open whilst valve 10 is closed and the containers are discharged through pipes 3 which connect the containers 13 in series. In a modification pipes 3 are replaced by conduits (14), Fig. 2 (not shown), connecting the lower portion of adjacent containers.
