Abstract

1,196,505. Valves. MAGDEBURGER ARMATURENWERKE KARL MARX. 19 June, 1968, No. 29262/68. Heading F2V. Main closure member 2, which is moved in response to pressure variations across it resulting from movement of electromagnetically actuated pilot closure member 3, is cushioned at the end of its spring movement by admission of upstream fluid into chamber 9. This fluid is admitted through parts 4, 6 when annulus 5 registers with part 4, but according to a modification (Figs. 2, 3 and 6, not shown) these parts are replaced by longitudinal slots in the member 2 and sleeve 1. Fig. 4 (also not shown) illustrates a closure member consisting of a disc connected by a rod to a hollow piston which receives the cushioning fluid through longitudinal slots.
