Abstract

[Also in Divisions C2 and C5] Hydrocarbon polymers, e.g. polyisoprene, polyethylene and polypropylene, are stabilized against oxidation by addition of (preferably 0À01-5%) of compounds (1), where R represents H or a branched or unbranched C 1-12 alkyl group; R<SP>1</SP> represents H or a halogen atom or a C 1-12 alkyl, C 2-4 cyanoalkyl, C 1-4 alkoxy, phenyl, phenyl-(C 1-4 alkyl), CF 3 or -(CH 2 ) p COE radical (where E represents a hydroxy, C 1-18 alkoxy, optionally substituted C 1-18 alkylamino, optionally substituted hydrazino or morpholino radical and p represents 0, 1 or 2); m represents 1 or 2; and X 1 represents -O-, -S-, -NH-, or -NQ 1 - (where Q 1 represents a C 1-18 alkyl radical).
