Abstract

20,180. Mac Bride, W. P., and Maule, M. St. J. Sept. 19. Golf.-The sticks of golf clubs are counterweighted at the handle ends. As shown in the Figure, a brass tube A and a number of weights C are secured to the club by means of a screw B, a felt wad D being inserted between the weights C and the end E of the stick. The stick may be counterweighted by lead or other metal. The lead may be poured, while molten, into a pocket, ferrule, &c., secured to the stick ; or, wire may be wound around the handle.
