Abstract

A method of processing data concerning communication instances between at least two communications networks comprises the steps of obtaining data concerning communication instances between the communications networks, the data including routing information identifying the communication network from which the communications originate and at least one parameter capable of being processed to generate billing information; storing the data as a plurality of batches; generating a list identifying the batches of data ready to be processed; and operating a plurality of similar independent billing processes in parallel, each billing process using the list to identify a batch of data ready to be processed, to read and to process the batch of data to generate billing information.
