Abstract

The cover mat, for use where a manhole cover is located in a lawn or other grass covered area, is formed from artificial grass and removably adhered to a cover using dual locking adhesive tape. The mat may be formed from artificial grass formed with two lengths of strand, one straight and one curly, which may also be dual coloured.

Description

Description
The turf top cover mat" is a unique design that ensures a manhole cover is blended into a lawn. The product does not affect the function of the existing manhole as it is an oversized mat that is bonded onto the manhole with an industrial dual lock tape, therefore the product can be removed enabling access to the manhole and reapplied once access is no longer required. The cover mat is made from a synthetic materiel that resembles grass, it has it has two lengths of strand, one straight and one curly, these are also dual coloured, resulting in the mat as a very good match to real grass.
The mats are pre cut to standard size covering the most popular manhole covers currently available. The product is slightly oversized enabling the manhole edges to be kept free from a build up of dirt ensuring the manhole is easily accessed. The mat is also artificial so the manhole will never truly be camouflaged or disguised permanently ensuring the manhole is always available for access. The major benefit of this product is that it blends in an eyesore with the lawn and surrounding garden.
The key features are * It simply to apply by the end user * It does not interfere with the function of the manhole It helps to maintain easy access to the manhole by ensure a build up of dirt around the edge is minimized.
* It is identifiable because it is artificial and easily removed and reapplied.
* It enhances the aesthetics of the lawn and garden.
This product was designed from my own personal experience as a landscape designer and clients request to blend in the manhole.

Claims (1)

  1. Claims At present there is no single commercial product or innovation
    that is currently available to help the gardener blend in his or her manhole cover lid into the lawn.
    The product is very easy to install without the need for a landscaper or builder.
    The product has been designed to be easily removed.
    The product is still identifiable to the owner as it is artificial and not natural The product aims to be safe and secure so as not create any other hazard in the garden.
    The product does not reduce or impact upon the functionality of the existing manhole cover.
