Abstract
The invention relates to a non-return valve fitted to a drain pipe to prevent water coming back up the pipe and damaging property in the event of flooding. The valve comprises a ball as a closure member to seal the valve. The valve may also comprise spikes or barbs to secure the valve inside a drain pipe and mesh screens at the inlet and outlet of the valve to prevent debris obstructing the ball.
Description
McNally Flood Guard Anti-BlowBack This Invention relates to Property flood damages.
Can be used in tandem with the "McNally Property Flood Guard" or used on its own to stop drainage waste returning back up through the drainage pipes and damaging land and property.
The Flood Guard Anti-Blowback will be made in many sizes of which will fit very tightly to mostly the beginning of drainage systems.
Made mainly of tough plastic but other materials could be used.
Once fitted it will be virtually impossible to take out, so as to stop dirty drainage water returning at high pressure back into the land and surrounding properties.
The property drainage will work perfectly normal when fitted, but when a surge of water, is for some reason pushed up the drain, the Flood Guard will work by the ball raising up to block the entrance at the top of the Flood Guard Anti-BlowBack. When the water returns back down the drain the ball will lower enabling drainage water to drain away.

Numbered Points 1. Top mesh to stop foreign bodies i.e. leaves etc stopping the internal ball making a perfect seal if so needed.
2. Sharp spikes to ensure a very tight fit either tough plastic or metal & once fitted, it never can be taken out unless broken up into little pieces.
3. Solid hard wall to add strength to the Flood Guard Anti-BlowBack.
4. Hollow strong plastic ball that raises and blocks the top hole, if water returns through the drains.
5. The seal so that if drainage water decides to come back up the drainage pipe. The ball will raise and stop here to ensure a good seal is made stopping any more drainage water from returning up and out of the drain.
6. Grid mesh at the bottom to ensure no foreign body's i.e. twigs etc stopping the internal ball making a perfect seal if water came back up the drain.
