Description

LAMP DEVICE
The invention relates to a lamp device, more particularly to a lamp device with a light-condensing configuration.
S Lamp devices generally have a wide variety of structures and design for different demands. Some lamp devices, such as vehicle headlamps and flashlights, are equipped with a lens with a light-condensing configuration to increase the illumination brightness.
Glass, a primarily used material in the manufacture of such lenses in the past, is being gradually replaced byplastic due to its heavyweight and highmanufacturirig costs. Nevertheless, compared to the lamp devices with glass lenses, since plastic has lower transparency of light and thermal resistance than glass, additional light sources have to be utilized in conventional lamp devices having plastic lenses to increase the illumination brightness, thereby resulting a relatively high manufacturing cost and a relatively poor illuminating efficiency.
Moreover, for different light-condensing effects, replacement of lenses with different light-condensing configurations is required. However, the rigid plastic lenses are relatively difficult to be attached to and detached from the conventional lamp devices.
Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a lamp device capable of alleviating the above
drawbacks of the prior art.
Accordingly, a lamp device of the present invention comprises a lamp seat, a retaining seat and a lighting mechanism. The lamp seat defines a receiving space S therein. The retaining seat is mounted to the lamp seat, and has at least one retaining hole and at least one engaging portion that is adjacent to the at least one retaining hole. The lighting mechanism includes at least one lighting unit that includes a light emitting member and a light condensing member. The light emitting member is disposed in the receiving space. The light condensing rnemberismadeofaflexiblematerial, andhas an engaging part engaging removably the at least one engaging portion of the retaining seat, and a light condensing part IS connected to the engaging part and registered with the light emitting member.
Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent in the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which: Fig. I is an exploded perspective view of a preferred embodiment of a lamp device according to the invention; Fig. 2 is a fragmentary exploded perspective view of a light condensing member and a retaining seat of the preferred embodiment; Fig. 3 is a fragmentary assembled sectional view of the light condensing merrther and the retaining seat of the preferred embodiment; arid Fig. 4 is a partly exploded sectional view of a lamp seat, the retaining seat and a lighting mechanism of the preferred embodiment1 S Referring to Fig. 1 to 3, the preferred embodiment of a lamp device, according to the present invention, may be used on many occasions such as vehicles head lamp, working place lighting, landscape lighting, and other indoor and outdoor lighting. The lamp device includes a lamp seat 1, aswingseat 2d±sposedunder and connected pivotally to the lamp seat 1, a retaining seat 3 mounted to the lamp seat 1, a lighting mechanism 4, and a lens 5.
Further referring to Fig. 4, the lamp seat 3. includes a base wall 11, an outer surrounding wall 12, and an inner surrounding wall 14. The inner surrounding wail 14 extends forwardly from a periphery of the base wall 11, cooperates withthebasewall litodefinea receiving space 13, and is formed with a plurality of spaced-apart seat-mounting grooves 141. The outer surrounding wall 12 extends from the inner surrounding wall 14 and disposed around the base wall 11.
The retaining seat 3, in this embodiment, includes an annular mounting wall 31, an engaging wall 32 and an interconnecting wall 33. The mounting wall 31 is coupled to a distal end of the inner surrounding wall 14 of the lamp seat 2. and is formed with a plurality of coupling grooves 311 that are registered respectively with the seat-mounting grooves 141 of the lamp seat 1.
The engaging wall 32 is parallel to and spaced apart from the base wall 11 of the lamp seat 1 and the mounting wall 31, and is formed with a plurality of retaining holes 321, each of which is defined by a surrounding surface 322. The engaging wall 32 is further formed with a plurality of engaging portions 30 that are disposed respectivelyon the surrounding surfaces 322 (Le6, that are adjacent respectively to the retaining holes 321) Each of the engaging portions 30 has a plurality of front protrusions 301 disposed equiangularly around a respective one of the retaining holes 321, and a plurality of rear protrusions 302 disposed equiangularly around a respective one of the retaining holes 321, spaced apart from the front protrusions 301.
of the respective one of the retaining holes 321, and cooperating with the front protrusions 301 of the respective one of the retaining holes 321 to define an engaging groove 303 that surrounds the respective one of the retaining holes 321. The front protrusions 301 are staggered circumferentially relative to the rear protrusions 302. The interconnecting wall 33 interconnects the mounting wall 31 and the engaging wall 32.
The lighting mechanism 4, in this embodiment, includes a plurality of spaced-apart lighting units 40 that are registered respectively with the retaining holes 321, and a circuit board 41 disposed in the receiving space 13. Each of the lighting units 40 includes a light emitting member 401 that is disposed S in the receiving space 13 and that is mounted on and electrically connected to the circuit board 41, and a light condensing member 402 that engages removably the retaining seat 3.
For each lighting unit 40 of this embodiment, the light emitting member 401 is configured as a light emitting diode (LED), and the light condensing members 402 is made integrally of silicone, a material which has a greater transparency of light and heat resistance than plastic. Each of the light condensing members 402 has an engaging part 404 that engages removably the engaging groove 303 of a respective one of the engaging portions 30 of the retaining seat 3, and a light condensing part 403 that is connected to the engaging part 404, that is registered with a respective one of the light emitting members 401, and that is exposed from a respective one of the retaining holes 321.
The lens S is made of transparent plastic in this embodiment, is disposed in front of and covering the lampseatl, andis formedwithapluralityof positioning members 51. Each of the positioning members 51 engages a respective one of the coupling grooves 311 and a corresponding one of the seat-mounting grooves 141.
When assembling the lamp device, due to the flexible nature of the light condensing members 402, it is easy to engage the engaging parts 404 of the light condensing members 402 with the engaging grooves 303 of the S retaining seat 3 so as to locate the light condensing members 402 respectively and precisely in front of the light emitting members 401 for condensing light emitted from the light emitting members 401.
muse, the light-condensingeffectof the lamp device of this invention can be adjusted by simply replacing the light condensing members 402 that have different light-condensing configurations, and none of the lamp seat 1, the swing seat 2, the retaining seat 3, the light emitting mernbeis 401 and the lens S has to be changed.
Since the light-condensing members 402 are flexible, they can easily engage and be disengaged from the engaging grooves 303.
The use of the silicone-made light condensing members 402 in this embodiment, featuring high optical transparency, is also advantageous in terms of material used, since when compared to the plastic-made light condensing members, fewer of the light emitting members 401 is required to provide the same brightness. In such, the overall elements used to assemble the lamp device can be reduced, simultaneously cutting down the cost of material and usage, the electrical energy consumed and the undesired heat generated.
It should be noted that, while this invention is exemplifiedusing apluralityof lighting units 10, only one lighting unit 40 may be employed is other embodiments of this invention.
S The effect of the present invention resides in the configuration in which the engaging part 404 of the light condensing parts 403 engage removably the engaging portions 30 of the retaining seat 3, allowing different light condensing parts 403 with different light condensing effects to engage and disengage the retaining seat 3 easily, fulfilling various demands. Thus, the lamp device of this invention not only provides an innovative configuration, but also lowers manufacturing and material costs.
