Abstract

549,466. Safety-razors. SWANN & CO., Ltd., W. R., and SWANN, W. R. July 14, 1941. No. 8874. [Class 30] A safety razor with a thin transversely-flexed blade has the cutting edge of the blade located between the guard and a fixed abutment spaced from the guard, the blade being exposed on its convex side and flexed by upward movement of a flexing member operated by means associated with the handle. The abutment 6 provides with the guard a slot or opening 7 for the edge of blade 5 which is located by studs 10 on the flexing member 9 which is housed in a recess 8 in the head 2. The head 2 is integral with a hollow handle 3 which receives a stem 12 on member 9, the stem having a thieaded part 13 engaged by a threaded sleeve 15 located within the handle 3 by a screw 16 and annular recess 17. A washer 20 is secured to stem 12 by a screw 21 to limit the upward movement of member 9.
