624,175. Electric ovens. HOLTZMANN, A., and SCHNEIDER, E. May 9, 1946, No. 14057. [Class 39(iii)] [Also in Group XII] A tunnel furnace 1 for the baking of ceramic products is inclined at such an angle, preferably 40-45 degrees to the horizontal, that the products slide down under the action of gravity to a collecting device 8 discharging onto a conveyer 9, the tunnel being of squat cross section. Gas or oil fuel burners 6 or electric resistances may be disposed in the side walls or floor of the tunnel but are preferably placed in a vault 5 covered by a removable roof section 7. Side wall ventilator ducts may be provided and the air extraction may be assisted by a fan.
