Abstract
A glass polishing composition comprises (a) an oxide of iron, cerium, zirconium or silicon, or zirconium silicate; and (b) one or more acidreacting salts, such as sodium, potassium, or ammonium bisulphate or ammonium chloride, which in aqueous solution or suspension do not produce colloidal precipitates during the polishing process due to the action of the basic constituents of the glass or the action of the air, the amount of (b) preferably being 0.05-0.5% by weight of the composition. Specification 26431/1910 is referred to.
