Description
This international patent application claims priority to australian provisional patent application 2006905638, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
Technical Field
The present invention relates generally to male garments. More particularly, the present invention relates to a male garment for supporting and enhancing the appearance of the male genitals.
Background
The literature describes many designs of male underpants that are intended to strengthen, move or change the shape of the male genitals. Many prior art designs enclose or wrap around the entire male genitalia, some are difficult to wear, some are painful to wear, and others are extremely fantastic in appearance when worn. All of these design techniques are intended to modify the natural curves and contours of the appearance of the male reproductive organs with their particular design.
One of these prior art designs has a saddle pad that anteriorly encases the entire male genitalia, sometimes with a small piece of cloth as a pouch to support the male genitalia. The shield in front of the genitals is then integrated into the underwear and attached to the body by a belt. This type of design can be found in U.S. patent application 5,157,793(U.S. Pat. No.5,157,793), which has an oval hole in the front of the crotch of the panty and a single dome-shaped pocket sewn to the edge of the hole. The pouch is designed to substantially change the shape of the genital appearance, but is actually worn with varying degrees of discomfort.
Another category includes either flaps, channels, bags, pockets, holes or narrow holes for pushing, hanging, suspending or guiding the penis to a structure to contain the scrotum. These methods cause abnormal separation of the penis from the scrotum and often cause pain. This type of design can be found in U.S. design patent application 268,964(U.S. design Pat. No.268,964), which is constructed for surgical or medical purposes and would not otherwise be comfortable.
Another category has protective devices that are used only to cover the male genitals. These protective devices may be fastened by wearing conventional tight pants or body-protecting elastic for athletes, which is cumbersome since an extra piece must be worn to maintain the protective device. In addition, there are no designs in this category that cover the male genitals and maintain their natural shape, but rather each design causes an unnatural shape change and thus becomes a burden on the male genitals. Therefore, they are often uncomfortable to wear. A typical example of this type can be found in U.S. patent application 4,731,063(u.s.pat. No.4,731,063).
Another category relates to decorative and protective devices designed to cover the crotch area of the wearer, whether the penis only, the shade only, or both. These devices can be secured either by tying around the bottom of the male genitals or by using wire fasteners extending from the crotch down to the upper back of the hips. For example, in U.S. patent application 5,467,482(U.S. Pat. No.5,467,482), an ornamental device is provided with a flat piece of fabric suspended from a wire frame that is incapable of supporting male reproduction. Such a construction is of course uncomfortable to wear and can cause the genitals of the wearer to become exposed above, below or laterally, and at worst, to fall out of the base and become exposed.
In general, the prior art designs described above result in distortion of the external shape of the genitals and are generally overly complex. These intricate designs not only increase difficulty and discomfort, but also increase manufacturing costs compared to conventional underpants.
Thus, there is a need for a garment that can lift the male genitals to highlight the genitals without causing significant discomfort to the wearer. In addition, there is a need for a garment that is not more difficult or prohibitively expensive to manufacture than conventional garments.
Before turning to the summary of the invention, it must be clearly understood that the foregoing prior art is provided merely as a background to explain the context of the invention. Thus, any prior art in the specification section hereof is not (and should not be taken as) an admission that it is not, and should not be taken as, an acknowledgment or any form of suggestion that it is a part of the common general knowledge or knowledge.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention provides a underwear or swimwear garment capable of supporting the male genitals, the garment having a double layer in the front portion, an inner layer and an outer layer, wherein the lower inner portion is folded upwardly to form a pouch within the interior of the garment, the pouch contacting and supporting the genitals of the male wearer to move forward and/or upward when worn.
The pouch created in accordance with the present invention moves the genitals of a male wearer forward and/or upward, while ameliorating the need for additional seams, pockets, slings, etc. in the garment. The garment of the present invention thus provides support to lift and highlight the male genitals without causing significant discomfort to the wearer. In addition, the present invention results in a garment that is not more difficult or prohibitively expensive to manufacture than current underwear or swimwear garments.
Throughout this description, spatial terms such as "up", "forward", "upper", "lower" and "top", etc., will be used, it being clearly understood that such terms are used for convenience of reference, and are intended to be used to describe the situation when the garment of the present invention is worn by a straight (standing) male wearer.
Also, as used herein, "male genital-supportive underwear or swimwear garment" refers to any style of underwear or swimwear that can support and/or cover the male genitals, including, for example, briefs (briefs), square-cut briefs (square-cut), boxer briefs (hipster briefs), sport briefs (sports briefs), thongs or g-strings, sportsman's body-protecting elastics (ath), swim pants (swim rounds), and the like. In the present technology, these garments all have a "double-layer front portion". In these known men's underpants or swimwear garments having a double-layered front portion, the double-layered front portion extends from the waist of the garment, over the genital area of the wearer, to a position closest to the perineum of the wearer. Typically, these garments are constructed from two layers (an inner layer and an outer layer) of fabric, at least the front of the garment being such as to cover the front of the wearer, including the genital region.
The present invention differs from other known underwear or swimwear garments having a double front portion in that the present invention contemplates creating a pocket in the garment in the front double layer. In the present invention, the lower inner portion of the double layer is folded laterally upward to form a pocket. In one embodiment, the pouch is formed by folding the inner layer and securing the end of the inner layer (i.e., closest to the perineum of the wearer) upward to form an upwardly opening pouch.
As described above, the pocket formed in the garment of the present invention is designed to engage and hold the genitals of the wearer to move the genitals forward and/or upward. The term "palpably held" as used herein includes any contact between the pouch and the genitals that enables it to move forward and/or upward. In particular examples, "palpably holding" includes receiving all or part of the genitals of the wearer in a pouch.
In another embodiment of the invention, the pouch naturally holds the genitals of a male wearer while the garment is being worn by the wearer, without the need for hands to move the genitals to allow the pouch to achieve the holding effect. In particular embodiments, the contact between the open edge of the pouch and the posterior region of the buttocks under the genitals may be effective when the garment is worn by the wearer.
Since the garment of the present invention is designed to move the genitals of the male wearer forward and/or upward, the front portion (inner and outer layers) of the garment is preferably shaped and/or formed to move the genitals of the male wearer forward and/or upward.
Drawings
Briefly describing the general concept of the present invention, the following figures will illustrate the resulting garment of the present invention in preferred embodiments:
FIG. 1 is a front view of a garment according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 2 is an interior portion of the front of the garment shown in FIG. 1.
Detailed Description
It is to be clearly understood that the following description is intended to illustrate only a single embodiment and is not to be taken in a limiting sense, with regard to the above description.
The garment of fig. 1 and 2 allows the wearer of the garment 100 to move his genitals forward and upward in the garment, making his genitals appear more robust and visible than is practical.
In fig. 1, the garment 100 is a men's brief with a double-layered front portion 110. The front portion 110 includes (as viewed clockwise from above) a waistband 120, a seam 112, a leg opening 170, a seam 113 proximate the perineum of the wearer, a leg opening 160, and a seam 111.
The garment 100 may be made of any suitable material depending on the application. For example, when the garment is used as underpants, it can be made of a suitable cloth such as cotton fabric, mixed cotton fabric, stretch fabric, etc. Another embodiment of the invention, wherein the garment is a swimming suit, may be made of other fabrics such as nylon, polyester, lycra, etc.
The front portion 110 of the garment 100 forms a raised front portion 114 that covers the genitals of the wearer when the wearer moves forward and upward. In this way, the garment 100 not only comfortably receives the male genitals, but also provides a more prominent and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
In fig. 2, the outer layer of the double-layered front portion covers all the front portion of the garment, as explained earlier. The inner layer 116 of the double-layered front portion is reverse creased at fold 140 to form an upwardly opening pocket 130 in the interior of the garment. The pouch 130 is secured by sewing along the edges of the pouch 130, i.e., the perimeter of the leg openings 160 and 170. But fold 140 is not stitched to secure the lower edge of pocket 130 to the outer portion of the anterior portion 118. However, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the pouch may be constructed by other fastening methods or by sewing only two sides of the pouch mouth 150 to the periphery of the leg openings 160 and 170 so that the sides of the pouch 130 are open.
There is no stitching or other securing means along the fold 140, i.e., where the lower edge of the pouch 130 is formed, so there is flexibility and the flexibility and mobility of the bottom of the pouch may be limited. The comfort of the garment of the present invention is increased because the bottom of the pouch can move in a contractible manner to position the genitals of the wearer and move them forward and/or upward. In addition, the absence of stitching beneath the bottom of the bladder 130 reduces the cost and complexity of manufacturing the garment 100.
In the preferred embodiment of fig. 1 and 2, pocket mouth 150 has a resilient reinforcement, such as an elastic band, for example. The elasticated reinforcement improves the range of forward and/or upward movement of the male genitals and/or increases the comfort of the wearer of the garment. Although the pocket 150 in the embodiment shown has a single elastic reinforcement, the pocket may be made solely of the fabric of the garment itself. In addition, the length of the pouch mouth 150, with or without the elastic reinforcement, is such that it can be physically stretched or tightened to assist the pouch in holding the genitals of the male wearer.
When worn, the pouch 130 engages and holds the genitals of the male wearer, moving them forward and/or upward.
In a preferred embodiment, the pouch 130 will naturally receive the genitals of a male wearer in contact with the wearer when the garment is being worn by the wearer. In particular examples, contact between the pocket mouth 150 and the posterior buttocks under the male genitals may be effective when the garment is worn by the wearer. Pouch mouth 150 is preferably placed under and behind the scrotum so that the genitals of a male wearer can be fully inserted into pouch 130. However, the present invention contemplates placing the penis into the pouch 130 by simply touching the pouch mouth 150. While the preferred embodiments of the invention are set forth above, the embodiments of the invention also allow the wearer to manually place the genitals in the pouch.
It will be appreciated by persons skilled in the art that the invention described herein is susceptible to various modifications and alternative forms, in addition to those specifically set forth. It must be understood that the present invention includes any of various changes and modifications.
The invention also covers all steps or features mentioned or indicated in the specification, individually or collectively, and any and all combinations of any two or more of said steps or features.
In addition, it must be noted that, unless the context requires otherwise, both the singular and the plural of an article may be included.
It should be noted that any description of the shapes in the above technical solutions of the present invention falls within the scope defined by the present invention.
Finally, future patent applications may be filed in australia or overseas based on the present patent application, for example, in a divisional state and/or in a continuation state.
