Abstract

The apparatus uses small diameter X-ray beams with a calculator, and incorporates a table, supporting the patient (P) in a comfortable horizontal position, passing through an orifice in a first vertical frame (12). A supporting frame (62) with a second orifice turns on the first one, this orifice being of similar size to that in the first one, and a radiation emitter and receiver (96, 98) are slid by a drive along the supporting frame. A second drive rotates the latter round the patient, and a third tilts the first frame in relation to him. The emitter and receiver are on a polygonal chassis, the beam being in the plane of this chassis, while an oblong orifice in one side allows the operator to align the patient accurately.
