【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明はドッグフードに関し、より詳細には、特定の犬種に特有の健康上の問題を予防または改善する材料を含有する、特定の犬種に専用のドッグフードに関するものである。さらには、本発明は、特定の犬種が食するのに適したサイズおよび形状を有する、特定の犬種に専用のドッグフードに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
近年、ペットブームを反映して、様々なペットフードが広く普及し、ドッグフードについても多種多様なドッグフードが開発され、市販されている。例えば、犬のライフステージ（子犬、成犬または老犬等）に特異的な栄養要求に対応したドッグフードが市販されている。そのようなドッグフードは、カロリー、タンパク質および脂肪含有量等において異なっており、特にタンパク質含有量が大きく異なっている。子犬用のドッグフードは成長をもたらして成犬の体を作る必要があるためタンパク質が高い割合で配合されており、一方、成犬用のドッグフードは成犬が体を維持するのに必要なだけのタンパク質が配合されている。また、老犬は体の諸機能が低下して、タンパク質の摂取量が多いと体が処理しきれないため、老犬用のドッグフードはタンパク質が少なめに配合されている。そのようなドッグフードとして、例えば、ＡＤＶＡＮＣＥ（登録商標）アダルト、またはＡＤＶＡＮＣＥ（登録商標）パピー等が製造販売されている。

また、犬の大きさに特異的な栄養要求に対応したドッグフードも販売されている。大型犬は小型犬に比べて急速に成長する傾向があるため体重増加と骨格成長との間の不均衡が生じやすく、また骨密度が低い。従って、大型犬の子犬用のドッグフードとして、骨格異常を防止するために、カルシウムおよびリンの含有量、ならびにエネルギー密度（脂肪含有量）が適切に調節されたドッグフードが好ましいことが記載されている（例えば、特許文献１参照）。そのようなドッグフードとして、例えば、大型犬（成犬の体重＞３０ｋｇ）の子犬に専用のＡＤＶＡＮＣＥ（登録商標）グロース（ラージブリード）が存在する。

さらには、個々の犬に対応させたペットフードも存在する。例えば、顧客による、ペットの健康状態、遺伝情報、種類、活動レベル、病歴、系統、性質、体質、年齢、体重、嗜好等のペットに関する情報の入力に基づいて提供されるいわゆるカスタマイズドペットフード（例えば、特許文献２参照）、あるいはオーダーメイドによって製造される一匹一匹のペットに専用のペットフード（例えば、特許文献３参照）が存在する。それらペットフードは、顧客によるコンピューター等を介した情報の入力または注文に基づいて、一匹一匹の栄養要求および嗜好に合わせて個別に調製される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
昨今、純血種犬を飼う飼主が著しく増加しており、国内の犬の中で純血種犬が５５％を占め、さらにはトップ１０犬種で全純血種犬の７０％を占めるに至っている。純血種犬は、同じ犬種を交配させるため、その犬種に特有の様々な遺伝性疾患を有している。例えば、チワワは、細い骨でできた骨格をもつ華奢な犬種で、特に膝関節が衝撃に弱く、脱臼等を生じやすい。さらに、チワワは胃腸や皮膚が敏感である。ミニチュアダックスフンドは、長い胴を短い足で支えているため、さらには食欲が旺盛であり肥満になりやすいため、椎間板ヘルニア等、関節のトラブルを生じやすい。シーズーは、眼が大きく突き出しているため、紫外線や衝撃を受けやすく、眼のトラブルを生じやすい。また、レトリバーは、元気で活発な特性を有し、股関節や膝関節のトラブルを生じやすい。すなわち、犬種によって遺伝的に生じやすい疾患は決まっており、それら犬種に特有の問題を予防または改善して良好な健康状態を維持するのに必要な栄養要求は、各犬種によって異なっている。しかしながら、これまで、犬種に特有の健康上の問題に着目した、特定の犬種に専用のドッグフードは存在しなかった。従来の犬のライフステージまたは犬の大きさに対応させたドッグフードでは、各犬種に特有の健康上の問題を予防または改善し得る栄養要求を満たすことはできなかった。

また、特定の犬種によって、食するのに適切なドッグフードのサイズおよび形状が異なっている。例えば、チワワは、口のサイズが小さく、かつあごの噛む力が弱い犬種であるため、小さな口に合わせたサイズでかつ噛みやすい形状のドッグフードが好ましい。また、シーズーは、鼻が低く口が平らなため食事をこぼしやすく、平らな口でも食べやすい形状のドッグフードが好ましい。従来の犬のライフステージまたは犬のサイズに専用のドッグフードでは、各犬種のドッグフードのサイズおよび形状に対する嗜好を十分に満たすことはできなかった。

さらに、カスタマイズドペットフード等の個々の犬に対応させたペットフードの提供は、個々の犬の全ての要求に細かく対応できるため非常に理想的ではあるが、生産性の低下やコスト高といった問題がある。さらには、顧客による情報の入力等の手続きの煩雑さ、コンピューター等の設備の必要性等、顧客の負担の大きさから、実際に十分普及しているとはいえない。

特定の犬種の栄養要求、さらには嗜好に対応した、特定の犬種に専用のドッグフードの開発および販売は、犬の飼い主、ならびにペットショップのオーナーに強く望まれている。

本発明は、上記事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、特定の犬種に特有の問題を予防または改善して、より良好な健康状態を維持できる、特定の犬種に専用のドッグフードを提供することを目的とするものである。さらに、本発明は、特定の犬種の身体上の特徴および嗜好に適合し、より好んで食される、特定の犬種に専用のドッグフードを提供することを目的とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明のドッグフードは、特定の犬種に特有の健康上の問題を予防または改善する材料を含有することを特徴とするものである。前記犬種に特有の健康上の問題を予防または改善する材料は、成犬と子犬で異なっていることが好ましい。

本発明のドッグフードは、子犬のチワワ専用である場合には、コロストラムおよび月見草油を含有することが好ましい。また、子犬のミニチュアダックスフンド専用である場合には、コロストラムおよび緑イ貝パウダーを含有することが好ましい。また、子犬のシーズー専用である場合には、コロストラムおよびエチナシアを含有することが好ましい。さらに、成犬のチワワ専用である場合には乳清および緑イ貝パウダーを、成犬のミニチュアダックスフンド専用である場合には魚油、緑イ貝パウダー、および共役リノール酸を、成犬のシーズー専用である場合にはブルーベリーを含有することが好ましい。

本発明のドッグフードは、鶏肉または七面鳥肉、穀物、植物性タンパク質、植物性繊維、脂肪、油、ビタミン、およびミネラルをさらに含有することがより好ましい。

さらに、本発明のドッグフードは、特定の犬種が食するのに適切なサイズおよび形状を有するキブルであることが好ましい。前記特定の犬種が食するのに適切なサイズおよび形状は、成犬と子犬で異なっていることがさらに好ましい。例えば、子犬のチワワ、ミニチュアダックスフンド、またはシーズー専用である場合には、厚さが５．０−８．０ｍｍ、直径が５．０−８．０ｍｍの多孔性円柱状のキブルであることが好ましい。また、成犬のチワワまたはミニチュアダックスフンド専用である場合には、厚さが３．０−５．０ｍｍ、長さが５．５−８．５ｍｍ、幅が５．５−８．５ｍｍのほぼ直方体状のキブルであることが好ましい。また、成犬のシーズー専用である場合には、高さが１２．３−１５．５ｍｍ、幅が４．３ｍｍ−５．８ｍｍ、厚さが４．０−５．０ｍｍの３点星状のキブルであることが好ましい。

本発明の特定の犬種に専用のドッグフードは、その犬種に特有の健康上の問題を予防または改善する材料を含有しているため、各犬種に応じた栄養要求を満たして、より良好な健康状態を維持することができる。また、特定の犬種が食するのに適したサイズおよび形状を有するキブルである場合には、各犬種の身体上の特徴および嗜好に応じた、より好まれる食餌を提供することができる。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明のドッグフードは、犬がその食餌を食べる任意の製品を含み、例えばメインミール（総合栄養食）または軽食（例えばビスケットおよび菓子）のいずれであってもよい。本発明のドッグフードは、好ましくはメインミール（総合栄養食）であり、より好ましくは、基本成分として、例えば、鶏肉または七面鳥肉、穀物、植物性タンパク質、植物性繊維、脂肪および油、ビタミンおよびミネラル等を含有するメインミール（総合栄養食）である。

本願発明のドッグフードは、特定の犬種に特有の健康上の問題を予防または改善する材料を含有する。特定の犬種に特有の健康上の問題を予防または改善する材料とは、特定の犬種に固有の全ての健康上の問題を予防または改善し得る、犬が食することができる全ての材料を意味し、例えば、コロストラム、月見草油、緑イ貝パウダー、エチナシア、乳清、魚油、共役リノール酸、ブルーベリー等が挙げられるが、それらに限定されるものではない。

コロストラムとは、仔牛を出産後、最初の３から４日間に乳牛から採取される初乳を意味し、栄養素、成長因子、および受動免疫をもたらす活性成分を豊富に含む。コロストラムは、必須栄養素（例えばタンパク質、脂質、炭水化物、ビタミン、ミネラル等）に加えて、例えば、ＩｇＧ、ＩｇＭ、およびＩｇＡ等の免疫グロブリン、インスリン様成長因子（ＩＧＦ−１およびＩＧＦ−２）、トランスフォーミング成長因子（ＴＧＦ−β１およびＴＧＦ−β２）、上皮成長因子等の成長因子、ならびにラクトフェリン、ラクトペルオキシダーゼおよびリゾチーム等の天然の抗菌物質を含み、免疫力の増強、身体能力の強化、ならびに胃腸管の健康状態の維持および改善等をもたらす。コロストラムは、例えばＩｎｔａｃｔ（登録商標）（Ｎｕｍｉｃｏ）のようなラクトース含有量が低いものが好ましい。

月見草油は、月見草の種から得られ、γ−リノレン酸、リノール酸、オレイン酸、パルミチン酸、およびステアリン酸等の脂肪酸、ステロイド、カンペステロール、およびβ−シトステロール等を含有する。脂肪酸は正常な細胞機能を維持する機能を有し、さらに特にγ−リノレン酸は、抗炎症作用を有するプロスタグランジンＥ１に代謝されて、皮膚の炎症等を抑える。

緑イ貝パウダーは、ニュージーランド緑イ貝（Ｐｅｒｎａ ｃａｎａｌｉｃｕｌｕｓ）から、その抗炎症特性が維持される方法によって調製される。緑イ貝パウダーは、活性成分として、グルコサミン、コンドロイチン硫酸、ならびにω３系脂肪酸であるエイコサペンタエン酸（ＥＰＡ）およびドコサヘキサエン酸（ＤＨＡ）等を含む。グルコサミンは、軟骨基質の合成を助け、関節の動きを改善する。コンドロイチン硫酸は軟骨の主成分であり、軟骨の崩壊を抑え、かつ軟骨の再生を促進させる。ＥＰＡおよびＤＨＡは抗炎症効果を有し、皮膚等の炎症を予防または改善する。

エチナシアはネイティブ・アメリカンが使ってきたハーブであり、例えばＥｃｈｉｎａｃｅａ Ｐｕｒｐｕｒｅａ， Ｅ． Ａｎｇｕｓｔｉｆｏｌｉａ， またはＥ．Ｐａｌｌｉｄａ等が挙げられる。エチナシアは、好ましくは、Ｅｃｈｉｎａｃｅａ Ｐｕｒｐｕｒｅａの植物全体からの抽出パウダーである。エチナシアは、様々な多糖類、アルキルアミド、糖タンパク質、フラボノイド、アルカロイド等を含有し、免疫系を増強させて感染に対する抵抗性を高めると共に、組織修復を高め、さらには炎症を抑えると考えられている。
