Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a circuit board connector to be mounted on a circuit board and a terminal press fitting jig.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, for example, terminals that are not soldered are being used as terminals used to establish electrical connection between a through hole of a circuit board and a contact portion formed on the inner periphery thereof, and one example thereof is becoming popular. As shown in FIG.
[0003]
The terminal 1 is also referred to as a needle-eye shape, and a pair of elastic abutting portions 2 are formed so as to bulge outward in a substantially arc shape with a bending space interposed therebetween, so that the terminal 1 extends in the radial direction. Has an elastically deformable structure. The terminal 1 is pressed into the through hole 7 of the circuit board 6 while being elastically deformed so that the two elastic contact portions 2 are closed, and is pressed against the inner periphery of the through hole 7 by the elastic force in the opening direction. The stopper is prevented from coming off, and electrical connection with the contact portion 8 formed on the inner periphery of the through hole 7 is enabled.
[0004]
By the way, in the press-fit type terminal 1 of this type, it is necessary to insert the terminal 1 into the through hole 7 against the elastic force of the elastic contact portion 2 as described above, and a correspondingly stable pushing force is required. Therefore, conventionally, a jig contact portion 4 is provided just above the elastic contact portion 2 of the terminal 1 so as to project from both sides, and the terminal press-fitting jig 5 is pressed against the jig contact portion 4 and pushed in. The elastic contact part 2 was inserted into the through hole 7.
[0005]
[Patent Document 1]
German Patent No. 19608168 [0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, in the circuit board connector in which the terminals are pushed in by the terminal press-in jigs, the jig abutments should be extended to the left and right sides as much as possible in order to easily and surely push the terminals into the circuit board. Is preferably provided. However, when a plurality of terminals are arranged in parallel, if the jig abutment is provided so as to protrude greatly, the jig abutments of adjacent terminals interfere with each other and the arrangement pitch of the terminals is reduced. There is a problem that the connector cannot be made narrow and the connector becomes large. Also, if the overhang width of the jig abutment is reduced to reduce the terminal arrangement pitch, the terminal press-fitting jig will be easily detached from the jig abutment during the terminal pushing operation, and the terminal will be inserted into the through hole. It becomes difficult to push it securely.
[0007]
The present invention has been completed based on the above-described circumstances, and a circuit board capable of reliably press-fitting a terminal and a connection portion of a circuit board and having a narrow arrangement pitch of terminals. It is an object to provide a connector for terminal and a terminal press-fitting jig.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
As means for achieving the above object, the invention according to claim 1 comprises a plurality of terminals led out of a housing, and a tip portion of the terminal is provided with a press-fit portion which is press-fitted into a connection portion of a circuit board. At the same time, a jig abutment is provided on the rear side in the press-fitting direction so as to protrude laterally, and the jig abutment is pressed into the connection part with the jig abutment pressed by a terminal press-fitting jig. Wherein the back surface of the jig contact portion in the press-fitting direction has a sloped shape positioned rearward in the press-fitting direction as being farther from the center line of the terminal. Have.
[0009]
The invention of claim 2 is the circuit board connector according to claim 1, wherein the jig contact portions of the terminals are alternately positioned in the axial direction with the jig contact portions of the adjacent terminals. It has features where it is formed.
[0010]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, there is provided a terminal having a press-fit portion to be press-fitted into a connection portion of a circuit board, and a jig contact portion is provided at a rear side of the press-fit direction so as to project laterally. A terminal press-fitting jig of a circuit board connector, which has an inclined surface located rearward in the press-fit direction as the back surface in the press-fit direction of the abutting portion is further away from the center line of the terminal, The present invention is characterized in that a contact surface in the form of an inclined surface is formed, which can contact along the inclined surface of the jig abutting portion and press the inclined surface.
[0011]
Function and effect of the present invention
According to the invention described above, the jig contact portion is formed in such a manner that the back surface in the press-fitting direction toward the connection portion is located rearward in the press-fitting direction as the distance from the center line of the terminal increases. When the contact surface at the tip of the jig is brought into contact with the press-fitting portion and the connecting portion to press-fit, the terminal press-fitting jig is less likely to come off the edge of the jig abutment portion. That is, as compared with the conventional configuration in which the back surface of the jig abutment is formed in a flat shape, the pressing operation can be performed reliably even if the overhang width of the jig abutment is reduced. This has the effect of reducing the arrangement pitch of the circuit board and reducing the size of the circuit board connector.
[0012]
Further, when the jig contact portions of the terminals adjacent to each other are formed at staggered positions in the axial direction as in the invention of claim 2, the arrangement pitch of the terminals can be further reduced.
[0013]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
<First embodiment>
A first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
In FIG. 1, reference numeral 10 denotes a board connector, and hereinafter, the left side in the figure will be described as the front.
[0014]
The board connector 10 includes a connector housing 11 made of a synthetic resin and a plurality of terminals 20. The connector housing 11 includes a main body portion 12 that is elongated in a direction perpendicular to the paper surface of FIG. 1, and a hood portion 13 into which a mating connector housing (not shown) is fitted on a front surface of the main body portion 12. . A plurality of through holes 14 penetrating front and rear are formed in the main body 12, and are arranged in upper and lower two stages.
[0015]
The terminal 20 is also called a press-fit terminal, and is formed in an elongated rectangular bar shape as a whole by pressing a metal wire having excellent conductivity. As shown in FIG. 1, the terminal 20 is bent in an L shape, and a mounting portion 21 at one end is press-fitted into the through-hole 14 from the back and mounted on the connector housing 11. The mounting portion 21 protrudes into the hood portion 13 from the front surface of the main body portion 12, and comes into contact with a mating terminal (not shown). On the other hand, a substrate connecting portion 25 is formed in a portion of the terminal 20 that protrudes downward from the bent portion 22. Each of the board connecting portions 25 is arranged in two front and rear rows with the tips thereof being aligned at the same height position, and is inserted into the through-hole 41 of the circuit board 40 (see FIG. 3).
[0016]
The circuit board 40 has a conductive path 42 formed on the surface and a large number of through holes 41 are opened (see FIG. 3). A contact portion 43 (corresponding to a connection portion of the present invention) is formed on the inner periphery of the through hole 41 by plating or the like, and is connected to the conductive path 42.
[0017]
As shown in FIG. 2, the board connecting portion 25 has a tapered portion 26 for guiding formed at the tip thereof, and a pair of elastic contact portions over a region approximately twice the depth of the through hole 41 above the guide portion 26. A portion 27 (corresponding to the press-fitting portion of the present invention) is formed. The two elastic abutting portions 27 are formed in a thick band shape, and are formed so as to bulge outward in a substantially arc shape via a thin portion 28 that can be elastically deformed. The maximum length in the radial direction of the two elastic contact portions 27 is set to be larger by a predetermined amount than the inner diameter of the contact portion 43 of the through hole 41 (see FIGS. 3 and 4). The elastic contact portion 27 is inserted into the through hole 41 by being pressed and shrunk in the radial direction together with the thin portion 28, and is electrically connected to the contact portion 43.
[0018]
A jig contact portion 29 is formed at a position directly above the elastic contact portion 27 (backward in the press-fitting direction) so as to protrude in the left-right direction. The jig contact portion 29 has a substantially rectangular flat plate shape, and an upper edge (a back surface in the press-fitting direction) is a contact edge 29A of a terminal press-fitting jig 50 described later. The distance from the center line in the axial direction is more inclined toward the rear in the press-fitting direction. The corner of the lower edge 29B of the jig abutment 29 is rounded. Further, a guide portion 23 slightly wider than the main body portion of the terminal 20 via a taper portion is formed directly above the jig contact portion 29.
[0019]
On the other hand, a pair of fixing arms 15 for projecting the connector housing 11 to the circuit board 40 are provided at both ends on the rear surface of the connector housing 11 (see FIG. 1). The fixed arm 15 has a semi-cylindrical shape extending vertically, and a through hole (not shown) for inserting a screw is vertically formed.
[0020]
Next, an example of a method of attaching the board connector 10 to the circuit board 40 will be described.
The board connector 10 is attached to the circuit board 40 using a terminal press-fitting jig 50 (see FIG. 3). The terminal press-fitting jig 50 has a flattened shape, and is formed to be insertable from above the board connector 10 between the guide portions 23 so as to correspond to the terminals 20. Further, a tip portion of the terminal press-fitting jig 50 that abuts against the abutment edge 29A of the jig abutment portion 29 is formed as an inclined surface 51 having the same angle as the abutment edge 29A. They come into close contact.
[0021]
The board connector 10 is held movably up and down with the board connecting portion 25 facing downward with respect to a setting device (not shown). Also, the circuit board 40 is fixed to the setting device in a horizontal position below the board connector 10 so that each board connecting portion 25 of the terminal 20 is located directly above the corresponding through hole 41 of the circuit board 40. Has become.

When the terminal press-fitting jig 50 is inserted horizontally between the terminals 20 from above the board connector 10 held by the setting device (see the two-dot chain line in FIG. 3), the terminal press-fitting jig 50 is It is guided by the taper and inserted between the guide portions 23. Then, the contact surface 51 of the terminal press-fitting jig 50 is brought into close contact with the contact edge 29A of the jig contact portion 29. Further, when the jig contact portion 29 is pushed down by the terminal press-fitting jig 50, the elastic contact portion 27 of the board connecting portion 25 is pressed into the through hole 41. As described above, since the jig contact portion 29 provided immediately above the elastic contact portion 27 press-fits the elastic contact portion 27 into the through hole 41, the terminal 20 can be securely attached to the circuit board 40 without bending. it can.
[0023]
When the elastic contact portion 27 enters the through hole 41 by a predetermined amount, the elastic contact portion 27 is locked in the through hole 41 by its radial elastic force, and is electrically connected to the contact portion 43. Connected.
[0024]
After the elastic contact portion 27 is inserted into the through hole 41 in this manner, the terminal press-fitting jig 50 is pulled out above the board connector 10 and the circuit board 40 (see FIG. 4). Then, a screw (not shown) is inserted into the through hole of the fixed arm 15 and fixed to the circuit board 40, whereby the mounting of the board connector 10 to the circuit board 40 is completed.
[0025]
As described above, according to the present embodiment, the abutting edge 29A of the jig abutting portion 29 is an inclined surface that is located rearward in the press-fitting direction as the distance from the center line of the terminal 20 increases. Since the (contact surface 51) is formed so as to abut exactly on the inclined surface, the terminal press-fitting jig does not easily come off from the jig contact portion when the terminal press-fitting jig is pushed. Therefore, as compared with the conventional configuration, the overhang width of the jig contact portion can be reduced, and the operation pitch and the arrangement pitch of the terminals can be narrowed, and the circuit board can be downsized.
[0026]
<Second embodiment>
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. Portions that overlap with the first embodiment are omitted.
The terminal 30 of this embodiment is substantially the same as the terminal 20 of the first embodiment, except that the axial length of the jig abutment 39 is shorter than the jig abutment 29 of the first embodiment. The second embodiment is different from the first embodiment in that the terminals 30 are formed at a distance L so that the positions of the jig abutting portions 39 of the adjacent terminals 30 are staggered.
[0027]
On the other hand, the terminal press-fitting jig 60 has a flattened shape and is formed between the guide portions 33 so as to be insertable from above the board connector 10 so as to correspond to the terminal 30. Is provided with a step 61 having a length equal to the above-mentioned distance L, and the contact surfaces 62 and 63 at the tips of the terminal press-fitting jigs divided by this step are respectively applied to the jig abutting portions 39. The edge 39A has an inclined surface having the same angle as the edge 39A. Thus, the contact surfaces 62 and 63 of the terminal press-fitting jig 60 can be brought into close contact with the contact edges 39A of the jig contact portions 39 of the terminals 30 adjacent to each other.
[0028]
When attaching the board connector 10 of the present embodiment to the circuit board 40, the terminal press-fitting jig 60 is set horizontally from above the board connector 10 held by the setting device, as in the first embodiment. Insert between 30 (see the two-dot chain line in FIG. 6). Then, the terminal press-fitting jig 60 is guided by the taper of the guide portion 33 and is inserted between the guide portions 33, and the distal end surfaces 62 and 63 of the terminal press-fitting jig 60 are respectively connected to the jig abutment portions 39 of the adjacent terminals 30. It abuts exactly on the contact edge 39A. Then, when the jig contact portion 39 is pressed down by pressing the terminal press-in jig 60, the elastic contact portion 37 of the board connecting portion 35 is press-fitted into the through hole 41, and the elastic contact portion 27 is inserted into the through hole 41. While being locked, it is electrically connected to the contact portion 43.
[0029]
As in the present embodiment, by arranging the jig contact portions of adjacent terminals in the axial direction alternately, the arrangement pitch can be further narrowed compared to the first embodiment, and the circuit board can be downsized. Becomes possible.
[0030]
