Abstract

Description
本願は、米国暫定特許出願第60/082,810号(これは、1998年4月23日に出願された)、および米国暫定特許出願第60/105,448号(これは、1998年10月23日に出願された)に基づいて、優先権を主張している。
本発明は、一般に、身体内から物質を回収するための医用装置に関する。さらに特定すると、本発明は、医用回収バスケットに関し、これは、使用中での組織に対する損傷の危険を最小にすると共に「ポケット」また身体内にてアクセスするのが困難な他の領域で配置または滞留している物質(例えば、結石)を捕捉するバスケットの性能を向上させるような輪郭にした(contoured)または尖端なし(tipless)の非外傷性遠位末端を有する。
公知の結石回収装置は、典型的には、「かご」を形成するように、そのバスケットの基部またはバスケットの遠位端あるいは先端にて複数のレッグを共に接合することにより構築したバスケットを有する。その遠位先端では、個々のレッグは、突出している先端が生じるように、ハンダ付け、接着剤などにより接合される。このバスケットの遠位末端での突出部または外部突起は、組織を突き出して組織外傷を起こす。一般に、公知のバスケットの先端または末端は、外部に突出し、それゆえ、組織を突き出すかまたは穿孔することにより、損傷を起こし得る。また、公知のバスケットの突出先端は、一般に、身体内の一定領域(例えば、「ポケット」)とアクセスまたは密接な接触ができず、それゆえ、このような領域に存在する結石は、公知のバスケットで回収するのが困難または不可能である。
本発明の目的は、実質的に突出している遠位バスケット末端またはバスケット尖端を有しない医用回収バスケットを提供することにある。すなわち、本発明によるバスケットは、非外傷性であり、組織を突くか、組織を穿孔するか、またはそうでなければ、組織に外傷を引き起こし得るいずれの著しい突出部または外部突起も有しない。

- 近位端と管腔と遠位端とを有するシースと、

身体から物質を除去するためのバスケットと
を備えた医用回収装置であって、
該バスケットが該シース内に収められている圧潰位置と該バスケットが該シースの遠位端から伸張している拡張位置とを有し、該バスケットは、2以上の対のバスケットレッグを備え、バスケットレッグの各対は単一のワイヤループから形成され、該バスケットレッグの各対におけるレッグは該バスケットの近位端において互いに結合されており、該バスケットレッグの各対は互いに交差し、該バスケットの遠位端において互いに対して付着せず、自由に移動可能である、医用回収装置。
