Claims (27)
- 多レベル多機能脊椎安定化システムにおいて、
脊柱の少なくとも第1及び第2レベルに沿って配置することができる構造であって、運動維持部と運動防止部を含んでおり、前記運動維持部は、前記運動防止部の第2の実質的に剛性を有する細長い本体に可撓的に連接されている第1の可撓性を有する細長い本体を含んでいる、構造を備えており、前記第1本体は、前記第1脊椎レベルの第1及び第2椎骨に係合されているアンカーの間を伸長する寸法に設定された長さを含んでおり、前記第2本体は、前記第2脊椎レベルの前記第2椎骨と第3椎骨に係合されているアンカーの間を伸長する寸法に設定された長さを含んでおり、前記第1及び第2本体は、互いに端と端が係合されている、多レベル多機能脊椎安定化システム。 - 前記第1及び第2本体それぞれは、それらを貫通して伸長している長手方向通路を含んでおり、前記システムは、前記通路を貫通して配置されている可撓性を有する連接部材を更に備えている、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1及び第2本体は、クリンプされて前記連接部材と係合している、請求項2に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1本体は、少なくとも部分的にそれを貫通して伸長している通路を備えており、前記第2本体は、一体に形成されている連接部材を含んでおり、前記連接部材は、前記第1本体の前記通路に受け入れられる、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記連接部材は剛性を有している、請求項4に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1本体は、そこから伸長している連接部材を含んでおり、前記第2本体は、前記連接部材をその中に受け入れる通路を含んでいる、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記連接部材は可撓性を有している、請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 前記端と端が係合されている部分は、互いに嵌合係合の形態で受け入れられている、前記第1及び第2本体の隣接する端部を含んでいる、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記隣接する端部の一方は、球状の形をしており、前記隣接する端部の他方は、球状の陥凹部を含んでいる、請求項8に記載のシステム。
- 前記隣接する端部の一方は、非円形形状を含んでおり、前記隣接する端部の他方は、前記非円形の端部を回転不能に受けるため、対応する形状に作られた陥凹部を含んでいる、請求項8に記載のシステム。
- 前記構造は、前記第1及び第2脊椎レベルに、前記脊柱の中心軸の第1側にオフセットした位置で、後方係合させることができる構造に作られており、前記システムは、前記構造と実質的に同一であり且つ前記第1及び第2脊椎レベルと、前記脊柱の中心軸の第2側にオフセットした位置で、後方係合させることができる構造に作られている第2構造を更に備えている、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記第2脊椎レベルの円板空間に配置することができる少なくとも1つの融合インプラントを更に備えている、請求項11に記載のシステム。
- 前記運動維持部分は、前記第1の細長い本体と、前記第2の細長い本体とは反対側の端部で連接されている第3の細長い本体を含んでおり、前記第3の細長い本体は、第1椎骨と、前記第2椎骨とは反対側の第4椎骨とに係合されているアンカーの間を伸長する寸法に設定された長さを含んでいる、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 多レベル多機能脊椎安定化システムにおいて、
第1脊椎レベルの第1及び第2椎骨の間に配置することができる寸法に設定された長さを有している第1の細長い本体であって、前記第1脊椎レベルの運動を許容する可撓性を有している、第1の細長い本体と、
前記第1脊椎レベルに隣接する第2脊椎レベルの前記第2椎骨と第3椎骨の間に配置することができる寸法に設定された長さを有している第2の細長い本体であって、前記第2脊椎レベルの運動を実質的に防止する剛性を有している、第2の細長い本体と、
前記第1及び第2本体の間を伸長しており、それらを互いに端と端を係合させて可撓的に連接する連接部材と、を備えている、多レベル多機能脊椎安定化システム。 - 前記第1及び第2本体それぞれは、それらを通って伸長する長手方向通路を含んでおり、前記連接部材は、前記通路を通して配置されている、請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1本体は、少なくとも部分的にはそれを通って伸長する通路を備えており、前記第2本体は、一体に形成されている連接部材を含んでおり、前記連接部材は、前記第1本体の前記通路に受け入れられる、請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1本体は、そこから伸長している連接部材を含んでおり、前記第2本体は、前記連接部材をそこに受け入れる通路を含んでいる、請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記端と端が係合されている部分は、互いに嵌合係合の形態で受け入れられている、前記第1及び第2本体の隣接する端部を含んでいる、請求項14に記載のシステム。
- 前記隣接する端部の一方は、非円形形状を含んでおり、前記隣接する端部の他方は、前記非円形の端部を回転不能に受けるため、対応する形状に作られた陥凹部を含んでいる、請求項18に記載のシステム。
- 前記隣接する端部の一方は、円周状の溝を有する軸方向伸長部を含んでおり、前記隣接する端部の他方は、前記伸長部を受け入れるための陥凹部と、前記陥凹部の中へ伸張して前記溝の中に配置することができる円周状の歯を含んでいる、請求項18に記載のシステム。
- 前記隣接する端部の一方は、一連の外周突起を有する軸方向伸長部を含んでおり、前記隣接する端部の他方は、一連の円周状の谷を有する内壁を前記突起と互いに噛み合わせて、前記伸張部を受け入れるための陥凹部を含んでいる、請求項18に記載のシステム。
- 前記第1及び第2部材のそれぞれに係合されている前記嵌合係合部の周りに、クリンプ、クランプ、及びコネクタから成る群より選択される部材を更に備えている、請求項18に記載のシステム。
- 脊柱分節の少なくとも2つのレベルを安定化するための方法において、
第1の細長い本体を第2の細長い本体に、前記第1及び第2本体の間を伸長する連接部材を使用して連結する段階と、
第1脊椎レベルの第1及び第2椎骨の間に、前記第1脊椎レベルの運動を許容する可撓性を有する第1の細長い本体を係合する段階と、
前記第1脊椎レベルに隣接する第2脊椎レベルの前記第2椎骨と第3椎骨の間に、前記第2脊椎レベルの運動を実質的に防止する剛性を有する第2の細長い本体を係合する段階と、から成る方法。 - 前記第1及び第2の細長い本体を連結する段階は、前記第1及び第2本体を互いに端と端を係合させて配置する段階を含んでいる、請求項23に記載の方法。
- 第3の細長い本体を、記第1の細長い本体の、前記第2の細長い本体とは反対側の端部に、前記連接部材を使用して連結する段階と、
前記第1椎骨と、前記第1脊椎レベルに隣接する第3脊椎レベルの第4椎骨との間に、前記第3脊椎レベルの運動を許容する可撓性を有する前記第3の細長い本体を係合する段階と、を更に含んでいる、請求項23に記載の方法。 - 前記第2及び第3椎骨の間に融合装置を設置する段階を更に含んでいる、請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記第1及び第2の細長い本体は、前記第1及び第2脊椎レベルに、脊柱の中心軸の第1側にオフセットした位置で後方係合されている構造を形成しており、前記方法は、実質的に同一の第2の構造を、前記第1及び第2脊椎レベルに、前記脊柱の中心軸の第2側にオフセットした位置で後方係合させる段階を更に含んでいる、請求項26に記載の方法。
