Abstract

Description
部に流体薬剤を送達させるための注液カテーテルは当業者では公知である。そのようなカテーテルは解剖学的なある部位に挿入する可撓性の中空チューブでできている。そのチューブは通常、その中を流体が流動するための、軸に沿って1つまたは複数の管腔を有している。カテーテルチューブの近位端を流体容器に接続し、そこからカテーテルチューブの中に流体を送り込む。流体はチューブの近位端で加えられる圧力によって管腔の1つの中を流れていく。それぞれの管腔では、チューブの遠位端近傍の注液部のところに1つまたは複数の出口孔が設けられており、そこを通って流体がチューブから出ていく。そのような出口孔は中空チューブの側壁に孔を開けて作られる。

31インチの20ゲージのカテーテルチューブであることが好ましい。チューブ52にある出口孔56は好ましくはその直径が約0.015インチで、チューブ52の長さ方向に沿って等しい間隔をあけて設けておく。孔56はチューブ52の長さ方向の軸に対して、それぞれの孔がその隣の孔とは約120度の角度でずれているように配列しておくのが好ましい。隣接する孔56の軸方向での間隔は、約0.125から0.25インチの範囲にあるのが好ましいが、約3/16インチであればさらに好ましい。また、注液部の長さには制限はない。この構成にすることによって、創傷部分の通常線状になった部位全体にわたって、広く均等に流体を送達させることが可能となる。もちろん、この出口孔56は、その他各種の配置方法で並べてもよい。

2の遠位端にはめられており、それにより、チューブとスプリングのそれぞれが中央管腔の位置を定めている。ドーム状の形状のあたり止め86がスプリング84の遠位端に取りつけられ、封止しているのが好ましい。チューブ82に対して遠位にあるスプリング84の部分がカテーテル80の注液部となっている。図10Aに示されたような未伸張の状態では、スプリング84には互いに接触している隣接のコイルを有しており、その結果スプリングの内部にあって分配閾圧以下である流体がコイルの間を半径方向に移動して管腔から出ていくようなことが、起きないようになっている。スプリング84は図10Bに示されているように、長さ方向に伸張する性質を有しているので、流体の圧力が分配閾圧以上に上がると、「ウィーピング」、すなわちコイルの間から外へ半径方向に漏れ出して、管腔から流体が流れ出すようになる。これとは別な方法で、スプリングが伸張するのではなく、半径方向に拡がって、スプリングのコイルの間から流体をウィープさせることもできる。さらに、スプリングが長さ方向、半径方向の両方に伸張してウィーピングをさせることも可能であるが、これについては当業者のよく知るところである。好適なことに、スプリングのコイルの間の流体は、チューブ82に対して遠位にあるスプリングの部分、すなわち注液部で、その長さ方向および外周方向全体にわたって実質的に均等に流れる。このカテーテル80は、流体を送達させるのが低圧、高圧いずれの場合であっても使用することができる。

閉止された遠位端を有する、延伸されたチューブ状のカテーテル体であって、該カテーテル体の遠位端部分が前記カテーテルの注液部を定め、該注液部は流体が該カテーテル体を通って流れることが可能なように構成されたカテーテル体と、
隣接するコイルを有する部材であって、該部材が緩和状態にあるときに該隣接するコイルの外表面が該部材の少なくとも一部と互いに接触し、第一端部と第二端部を有し、前記カテーテル体の管腔内部に封入され、少なくとも前記注液部の長さにわたって延在する部材と、を備え、
