Abstract
Description

Claims (16)
- 神経を刺激するための医療用電気リードであって、前記リードは刺激されるべき神経に隣接した管内の刺激部位に送達されるように適合しており、前記リードは、
パルス発生器に接続されるように構成された基端と、
折り畳み形態と、前記リードを前記刺激部位において固定して安定させるための拡張形態との間を移行するように構成された先端部分を備えたリード本体と、前記先端部分は、第1螺旋体、第2螺旋体、および第1螺旋体と第2螺旋体との間に位置する略直線状の部分とを備え、両螺旋体は、所定の有効外径を有し、少なくとも1つの管壁と摩擦係合するように構成されていることと、
前記先端部分に位置し、かつ刺激されるべき神経に電気パルスを経管的に伝えるように構成された1つ以上の電極と、前記先端部分が拡張すると、少なくとも1つの電極が、刺激されるべき神経にごく接近して配置されることと
を備える医療用電気リード。 - 前記管は、内頚静脈、上大静脈および腕頭静脈のうちから選択され、前記神経は迷走神経である、請求項1に記載の医療用電気リード。
- 前記電極と前記迷走神経との間の距離は2mm未満である、請求項2に記載の医療用電気リード。
- 前記螺旋体の所定外径は、前記先端部分が展開される管の内径よりも約5%〜約50%大きい範囲となる、請求項1に記載の医療用電気リード。
- 前記第1螺旋体は第1方向に巻回され、前記第2螺旋体は逆方向である第2方向に巻回される、請求項1に記載の医療用電気リード。
- 少なくとも2つの電極が、刺激されるべき神経と平行に整列する、請求項1に記載の医療用電気リード。
- 前記先端部分はニチノールおよびMP35Nのうちから選択される超弾性材料を含有する、請求項1に記載の医療用電気リード。
- 神経を刺激するための医療用電気リードであって、前記リードは、刺激されるべき神経に隣接した管内の刺激部位に送達されるように構成されており、前記リードは、

前記先端部分に位置し、かつ刺激されるべき神経に電気パルスを経管的に伝えるように構成された1つ以上の電極と、前記先端部分が拡張すると、少なくとも1つの電極が、刺激されるべき神経にごく接近して配置されることと
を備える医療用電気リード。 - 前記管は、内頚静脈、上大静脈および腕頭静脈のうちから選択され、前記神経は迷走神経である、請求項8に記載の医療用電気リード。
- 前記1つ以上の電極と前記迷走神経との間の距離は2mm未満である、請求項9に記載の医療用電気リード。
- 前記少なくとも1つの螺旋体の所定外径は、前記先端部分が展開される管の内径よりも約5%〜約50%大きい範囲にある、請求項8に記載の医療用電気リード。
- 前記先端部分は、2つの螺旋体と、それらの2つの螺旋体の間に位置する略直線状の部分とを備え、前記略直線状の部分は、刺激されるべき神経と平行に延びるように構成される、請求項8に記載の医療用電気リード。
