Abstract
Description
要求される動画ビット伝送速度は利用可能なネットワークビット伝送速度に正確に一致することはできないので、クライアントは再生バッファを維持する必要がある。

Claims (12)
- サーバからHTTPアダプティブストリーミング動画を受信するための方法であって、前記サーバに動作可能に接続されたクライアントにおいて、
前記動画のチャンクを受信すると、前記サーバから前記クライアントへの伝送のための現在の伝送速度を決定することと、
期待される将来の伝送速度に関係する統計情報を、少なくとも前記現在の伝送速度の関数として取得することと、
前記統計情報から目標伝送速度を導出することと、
前記目標伝送速度に従って前記動画の後続チャンクを要求することとを含み、
さらに、前記決定した現在の伝送速度を使用して前記統計情報を更新することを含み、
前記統計情報が前記クライアントとは別のネットワークノードから取得され、かつ前記ネットワークノードにおいて更新され、前記ネットワークノードが複数のクライアントからの統計情報を格納するように構成されている、
受信するための方法。 - 前記統計情報がヒストグラムを含み、前記導出することが前記ヒストグラムから所定の分位点を計算することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記分位点が5パーセンタイル、1パーセンタイル、0.1パーセンタイルのいずれか1つである、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記伝送速度の情報が、関連するネットワークのタイプ、時刻、曜日などの補助情報と関連付けて前記ネットワークノードに記憶される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記統計情報の前記取得することが前記クライアントが起動すると行われる、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記統計情報の前記取得することが時間間隔をおいて行われる、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の方法を実行するように構成されたコード手段を含むコンピュータプログラム製品。
- サーバからHTTPアダプティブストリーミング動画を受信するための装置であって、
前記装置を前記サーバに動作可能に接続するように適合されたネットワークインタフェースと、
前記装置を統計値データベースに動作可能に接続するように適合されたデータベースインタフェースと、
前記ネットワークインタフェースおよび前記データベースに動作可能に接続されたプロセッサとを備え、
前記プロセッサが、
前記サーバから前記装置への伝送の現在の伝送速度を決定し、
期待される将来の伝送速度に関係する統計情報を、少なくとも前記現在の伝送速度の関数として前記統計値データベースから取得し、
前記統計情報から目標伝送速度を導出し、
前記目標伝送速度に従って前記サーバからの前記プログラムの後続チャンクを要求するように構成されており、前記プロセッサが前記決定した現在の伝送速度を前記統計値データベースに調達するようにさらに構成される、
受信するための装置。 - 前記統計情報がヒストグラムを含み、前記導出することが前記ヒストグラムから所定の分位点を計算することを含む、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記分位点が5パーセンタイル、1パーセンタイル、0.1パーセンタイルのいずれか1つである、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記データベースインタフェースに動作可能に接続された前記統計値データベースをさらに備える、請求項7から9のいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 請求項7から11のいずれか一項に記載の装置を備えるセットトップボックス。
