Claims (4)
- 開口部が設けられた第1金属部材と、上記開口部を囲む第1金属部材の内周壁部に部分的に接触可能な外周壁部を有した第2金属部材とを、軸方向に加圧しつつ通電による抵抗発熱によって接合する方法であって、
上記第1金属部材の内周壁部に、第1内径部と、これよりも内径の大きい第2内径部とを形成し、
上記第2金属部材の外周壁部に、上記第1内径部および第2内径部よりも所定量だけ外径が大きい第1外径部および第2外径部を形成し、
上記第1金属部材の第1、第2内径部に、上記第2金属部材の第1、第2外径部をそれぞれ当接させるとともに、上記第1金属部材と第2金属部材とを一対の電極を用いて軸方向に加圧しつつ通電することにより、上記両金属部材の間に、上記第1内径部と第1外径部とが接合された第1接合部と、上記第2内径部と第2外径部とが接合された第2接合部とを形成し、かつこれら両接合部の間に、金属どうしが接触しない間隙部を、所定の軸方向長さにわたって形成することを特徴とする金属部材の接合方法。 - 請求項1記載の金属部材の接合方法において、
上記第1金属部材と第2金属部材との接合開始時、上記第1内径部と第1外径部、第2内径部と第2外径部とを同時に当接させ、この状態で上記電極による通電を開始することを特徴とする金属部材の接合方法。 - 開口部が設けられた第1金属部材と、上記開口部を囲む第1金属部材の内周壁部に部分的に接触可能な外周壁部を有した第2金属部材とが、軸方向の加圧力と通電による抵抗発熱とを受けて接合された金属接合体であって、
上記第1金属部材の内周壁部に、第1内径部と、これよりも内径の大きい第2内径部とが形成され、
上記第2金属部材の外周壁部に、接合前の時点で上記第1内径部および第2内径部よりも所定量だけ外径が大きい第1外径部および第2外径部が形成され、
上記第1金属部材と第2金属部材との間に、上記第1内径部と第1外径部とが接合された第1接合部と、上記第2内径部と第2外径部とが接合された第2接合部とが形成され、かつこれら両接合部の間に、金属どうしが接触しない間隙部が、所定の軸方向長さにわたって形成されていることを特徴とする金属接合体。 - 請求項3記載の金属接合体において、
上記第1金属部材がリングギアであり、上記第2金属部材がデフケースであることを特徴とする金属接合体。
