Description
この出願は、2004年8月20日に出願した「生体インピーダンスを用いた肺水腫モニタリングの方法及び装置」を題とするシリアル番号60/496、558のアメリカ合衆国の仮出願、及び、2004年5月13日に出願した「移動型ハイドレーションモニタリングの方法及び装置」を題とするシリアル番号60/570、852のアメリカ合衆国の仮出願への優先権を主張し、これらの出願の内容は、参照により本明細書の一部として取り入れる。
例1: 個人の脱水をモニタする移動可能な生体電気インピーダンスモニタリング
多くの人は、自分が脱水につながる活動や環境の中にいることに気づく。そのような活動は、競技運動、オフィサー/消防士によって行われた公安活動、戦闘、及び身体運動を要求する他の活動を含みうる。そのような環境は熱くて湿度の高い現場を含む。
例2: 別の装備内に組み込まれたデータ収集装置を用いた、人の移動可能な生体電気インピーダンスモニタリング
自身が脱水につながる活動あるいは環境の中にいることに気付く人が一般に使用するデバイスに、データ収集装置は、組み込まれることができる。例えば、データ収集装置は、安全装置、自転車のハンドル、ヘルメットあるいはグローブに組み込まれることができる。脱水のような疾病状態を示すハイドレーションモニタリング結果が得られる場合、データ収集装置はその人、及び/又はその人の近辺の他の人に結果を警報することができる。例えば、フットボール選手のヘルメットの外側のライトがフラッシュし、選手のハイドレーションモニタリング結果をチームメイト及びコーチに警告することができる。これらの警告は、ハイドレーションモニタリング結果の深刻度で格付されることができる。よって、例えば5%以上の脱水のような重大なハイドレーション限界を超えることに先立って、選手とチームメイトは適時の警告を有することができる。
例3: 自動車両を運転する人の移動可能な生体電気インピーダンスモニタリング
多くの人は自動車両を運転し、移動が可能ではあるが、長時間車両内に閉じ込められているため、かれらの移動度が制限されている。そのような車両は車、飛行機、タンク、船及び他の輸送デバイスを含む。
Claims (13)
- コントローラ、温度検出デバイス、データ通信デバイスを有し、移動可能な生命体の表面の上に連続的に取り付けできる寸法を有するポータブルプローブを備えたハイドレーションモニタリングデバイスの作動方法であって、
前記ポータブルプローブが、
電力の供給源からの電気エネルギーを、前記ポータブルプローブを取り付けている前記生命体の局部と交換する少なくとも2つの作用電極と、
前記生命体の一部と電気エネルギーを交換して、前記生命体の一部の局部生体電気インピーダンスを測定する少なくとも2つの検出電極と、を備え、
前記ポータブルプローブがパッチプローブとして構成され、前記パッチプローブが、パッチ識別子を有するパッチと、前記パッチと分離可能にカップリングされた電子機器とを備えることにより、前記ポータブルプローブを構成する各々の部品の交換を可能とし、
前記コントローラが、
前記ポータブルプローブを制御して、所定の選択期間の間、前記生命体の一部と電気エネルギーを交換させ、前記生命体の一部のハイドレーションを少なくとも部分的に表すインピーダンスデータを生成して、前記生命体の一部の前記局部生体電気インピーダンスをモニタリングするステップと、
前記温度検出デバイスを制御して、前記生命体の皮膚表面上の温度を検出させ、検出された温度を用いて、前記インピーダンスデータを補正するステップと、
前記データ通信デバイスを制御して、前記インピーダンスデータを受信するように構成された遠隔の装置に、前記生命体の一部のハイドレーションを少なくとも部分的に表す前記インピーダンスデータを無線で通信させるステップと、を行う
ことを特徴とするハイドレーションモニタリングデバイスの作動方法。 - 前記コントローラが、前記ポータブルプローブを制御して、連続的に前記生命体の一部と電気エネルギーを交換させて、前記インピーダンスデータを生成する請求項1に記載の作動方法。
- 前記コントローラが、前記データ通信デバイスを制御して、プローブ識別子を前記遠隔の装置に送信させるステップをさらに行う請求項1に記載の作動方法。
- 前記コントローラが、前記データ通信デバイスを制御して、電極識別子を前記遠隔の装置に送信させるステップをさらに行う請求項1に記載の作動方法。
- 前記コントローラが、血管拡張を検出するステップをさらに行う請求項1に記載の作動方法。
- 前記ポータブルプローブが、被検者の大腿の上に配置されている請求項1に記載の作動方法。
- 前記ポータブルプローブが、被検者の胸の上に配置されている請求項1に記載の作動方法。
- 前記生体電気インピーダンスをモニタする前記ステップにおいて、
前記コントローラが、経時的なハイドレーション傾向を識別するのに十分な期間の生体電気インピーダンスをモニタする請求項1に記載の作動方法。 - 前記コントローラが、ハイドレーション状況を緩和する介入のための推薦を自動的に提供するステップをさらに行う請求項1に記載の作動方法。
- 生命体に連続的に取り付けできる寸法を有するポータブルハイドレーションモニタリングプローブを備え、
前記プローブが、
電力の供給源と、
前記供給源からの電気エネルギーを、前記プローブを取り付けている前記生命体の局部と交換する少なくとも2つの作用電極と、
前記生命体の一部と電気エネルギーを交換して、前記生命体の一部の局部生体電気インピーダンスを測定する少なくとも2つの検出電極と、
前記生命体の皮膚表面上の温度を検出する温度検出デバイスと、
所定の選択期間の間の前記作用電極での電気エネルギーの交換に基づいて、前記生命体の一部のハイドレーションを少なくとも部分的に表す前記インピーダンスデータを生成し、検出された前記温度を用いて前記インピーダンスデータを補正するコントローラと、
前記インピーダンスデータを無線で遠隔の装置に通信するように構成されたデータ通信デバイスと、を備え、
前記プローブがパッチプローブとして構成され、前記パッチプローブが、パッチ識別子を有するパッチと、前記パッチと分離可能にカップリングされた電子機器とを備えることにより、前記プローブを構成する各々の部品の交換を可能にする
ことを特徴とするハイドレーションモニタリングデバイス。 - 複数の前記作用電極を備える請求項10に記載のデバイス。
- 前記作用電極と前記検出電極との間がそれぞれ、互いに2.5mm〜25cmの距離離れている請求項11に記載のデバイス。
- 前記作用電極が、被検者の皮膚に適用されるように構成された粘着性のパッチに付着される請求項12に記載のデバイス。
