屈折要素を有する眼の光学特性は、概して、

式中、rは、眼の瞳孔にわたる極半径である。A(r)およびΦ(r)は、振幅透過率関数および屈折要素の波面分布をそれぞれ表す。S(r)およびW(r)はそれぞれ、振幅透過率関数(スタイルス−クロフォード効果)および個々の眼の瞳孔にわたる波面誤差である。我々は、単純化のために瞳孔にわたる瞳孔関数の動径成分のみを含む。

として老眼の治療のための波面分布を得ることができる。式中、c2は、焦点オフセットを示す。

であり、c3は、異なる視距離における物体に対する焦点誤差を示すと仮定することが妥当である。
力(20/20)を有し、グレア、ハロ等の夜間視力の問題は、予想されない。第2に、眼は、1メートルから0.33メートルまで、20/30の推定視力の許容できる近方および中距離視力を有する。眼は、眼の前で最大で0.2メートル、20/40の視力を有することが考えられる。
環状部における光線透過率の制御は、角膜に移植される角膜インレー等のデバイスによって達成することが可能である。
眼の有効瞳孔を2mm未満に低減するデバイスは、老眼の治療のために焦点深度を増加させることが可能であるが、眼に入る全光も大幅に低減する。図5は、眼の比較的大きい自然瞳孔を利用し、複数の光学領域における反対符号を有する球面収差を誘発することによって、眼の焦点深度を増加させる方法を示す。明所視条件下での眼の光学は、3つの領域に分けられる。中心領域51、中間領域52、および外側領域53。この屈折矯正方法において、51および52の両方は、光波に対して無色および透明であるが、外側部53は、瞳孔周囲における光を遮断する、または減衰させる。従来の球面円柱矯正に加えて、無色光学部51および52は、異なる焦点オフセット、および反対符号を有する球面収差を有する。薄明視条件における眼の自然瞳孔は、54によって示される。
我々は、説明される方法およびデバイスが、眼の有効瞳孔サイズを3mm以下の比較的小さい値に制限する環状マスクを含んでいるため、個々の眼における高次収差(球面収差)をこれまで無視してきた。

眼の焦点深度の増加は、眼の瞳孔にわたって正の球面収差を誘発すること、および眼に対して遠方視力における最適画質を設定するための焦点オフセットによって達成することも可能である。図23に示すように、明所視条件下での眼の光学は、231として示され、薄明視条件(微光における明所視)に対する眼の瞳孔は、232である。瞳孔の直径(D1)は、眼によって異なるが3mm〜6mmの間である。

Claims (6)
- 眼のための多焦点眼科用レンズであって、前記多焦点眼科用レンズは、移植レンズまたは装用レンズとして構成され、
第1の焦点力および第1の球面収差を有する中心光学部と、
前記中心光学部に隣接した環状光学部とを備え、前記環状光学部は、第2の焦点力および第2の球面収差を有し、
前記第1の球面収差および前記第2の球面収差は、一方が正であり他方が負であるように反対符号を有し、
前記中心光学部および前記環状光学部は、ヒトの眼の通常の光学系において球面収差が0.08μm未満の範囲で眼のアパーチャを覆い、
前記第1および第2の球面収差は、極半径の4乗によって前記多焦点眼科用レンズにわたる位相誤差として表わされる、多焦点眼科用レンズ。 - 前記中心光学部は、2mm未満の直径を有する、請求項1に記載の多焦点眼科用レンズ。
- 前記環状光学部は、4mm未満の外径を有する、請求項1に記載の多焦点眼科用レンズ。
- 前記環状光学部に隣接した外側光学部をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の多焦点眼科用レンズ。
- 前記外側光学部は、6mm〜8mmの直径を有する、請求項4に記載の多焦点眼科用レンズ。
