Description
電気掃除機本体11は、例えば予め設定された掃除開始時刻となったときなど、掃除の開始のタイミングで、制御手段20が待機モードから掃除モードに切り換わり、掃除部17および走行部16などを駆動させ、充電装置12から例えば直線状に離脱する(離脱動作)。なお、充電装置12では、電気掃除機本体11が離脱してから所定時間経過した後などに装置制御手段58が待機モードから誘導モードに切り換わる。
充電装置12に電気掃除機本体11が接続された後、所定のタイミング、例えば予め設定された充電開始時刻となったとき、あるいは電気掃除機本体11が充電装置12に接続されてから所定時間が経過したときなどに、制御手段20および装置制御手段58はそれぞれ充電モードに移行して充電回路52を駆動させ、二次電池21の充電を開始する。そして、二次電池21の電圧が所定の使用可能電圧まで上昇したと判断すると、制御手段20および装置制御手段58が充電回路52による充電を停止させて充電作業を終了し、制御手段20および装置制御手段58がそれぞれ待機モードとなる。

Claims (4)
- 走行面上に設置される基地装置と、
本体ケースと、この本体ケースを走行面上で走行可能とする駆動輪と、前記本体ケースに設けられ所定距離以内の物体の存否を検出する物体検出手段と、基地装置を検出する基地装置検出手段と、前記物体検出手段および前記基地装置検出手段による検出に基づいて前記駆動輪の動作を制御することで前記本体ケースを自律走行させる制御手段とを備えた自律走行体とを具備し、
前記制御手段は、前記本体ケースを直進させるとともに前記物体検出手段により物体を検出したときに前記本体ケースの走行方向を変えて直進させるように前記駆動輪の動作を制御する第1走行モードと、前記本体ケースを前記物体検出手段により検出した物体に沿わせつつ湾曲状に走行させるように前記駆動輪の動作を制御する第2走行モードとを備え、前記第1走行モードにより領域内を走行して前記基地装置検出手段により基地装置を発見しないときに前記第2走行モードに切り換わり、前記第2走行モードにより異なる領域に移動したと所定回数以上判断したときに前記第1走行モードに切り換わる
ことを特徴とした自律走行体装置。 - 制御手段は、第2走行モード時に本体ケースが所定角度以上旋回したことを検出したときに異なる領域に移動したと判断して第1走行モードに切り換わる
ことを特徴とした請求項1記載の自律走行体装置。 - 制御手段は、第1走行モードにより本体ケースがこの第1走行モードを開始した側と同側に到達したと判断したときに第2走行モードに切り換わる
ことを特徴とした請求項1または2記載の自律走行体装置。 - 制御手段は、第2走行モードから第1走行モードに切り換える際の前記所定回数を、前記第1走行モードから前記第2走行モードに切り換わる毎に切り換える
ことを特徴とした請求項1ないし3いずれか一記載の自律走行体装置。
