(2) 制限部材13は、板状に限らず、棒状の部材を上下方向に複数並ベて構成し、物品10を所定高さ範囲で当接支持可能な構成を採用することができる。
(3) 実施例では、ストッパ12を弧状としたが、湾曲していない平板状、あるいは棒状の部材で構成したものであってもよい。
(4) 実施例では、堰止め手段として、上下方向の軸回りに回転するストッパ12を用いたが、堰止め手段は、物品10の各列間に配置されて、搬送レーン19に対して側方から直線的に進退するものであってもよい。
(5) 実施例では、複数のストッパ12を夫々対応する作動手段25により移動するよう構成したが、複数のストッパ12を連繋機構により連繋し、該連繋機構を単一の作動手段によって作動することで、複数のストッパ12を同時に移動する構成を採用することができる。
(6) 物品10は、ペットボトルに限らずその他の物品でもよいことは前述したが、横断面が円形や楕円、あるいは多角形で、前後の物品10,10の間に前記空所Sが形成される断面形状のものが好適な対象とされる。
(7) 物品群14が供給されるシート状部材は、半起函状態の段ボールシート17に限らず、各側面パネル17bが折曲されていない平らな状態であってもよい。また、シート状部材の材質は、段ボール紙に限らず、カートン紙等、その他各種材質であってもよい。

搬送コンベヤによって多列で搬送される物品を、所定個数集合した物品群として分離してシート状部材上に供給する物品の分離供給装置であって、
前記搬送コンベヤで搬送される物品の各列間に配置され、堰止め位置への移動によって各列の物品を堰き止める堰止め手段と、
前記搬送コンベヤの側方であって、前記堰止め手段より物品の搬送方向の下流に配設され、物品の搬送路に対して進退移動すると共に、搬送方向の前後に往復移動する移動制限手段と、
前記搬送路の上方に配設され、物品群における搬送方向の前側を支持可能な前支持部材および物品群の搬送方向の後側を支持可能な後支持部材を搬送方向に離間して有し、両支持部材を、搬送路に対して進退移動すると共に、搬送方向の前後に往復移動可能な移送手段と、を備え、
前記堰止め手段による堰止め解除により前記搬送コンベヤで搬送される先頭の物品を、前記搬送路に進出して搬送コンベヤによる物品搬送速度より遅い速度で下流側に移動する前記移動制限手段で受けて物品の搬送を制限し、
前記移動制限手段の下流側への移動に伴って搬送コンベヤで搬送される物品群として分離する最後尾の物品が前記堰止め手段を通過した位置で、該移動制限手段を停止すると共に、堰止め手段を堰止め位置に移動して後続の物品を堰き止め、
前記移動制限手段の下流側への移動を再開し、前記堰止め手段で堰き止められる物品と、前記最後尾の物品との間に生じた搬送路の隙間に前記後支持部材を進出させると共に、移動制限手段より下流側で搬送路に進出して待機する前記前支持部材の近傍まで移動した移動制限手段を搬送路から退出させ、
前記搬送路に進出している前記前支持部材および前記後支持部材で物品群を前後から挟持して両支持部材を下流側へ移動することで、物品群を前記搬送コンベヤの下流に位置付けたシート状部材上に供給するよう構成した
