Description
Claims (20)
- 1.炭素材料の表面を改質する方法であって、芳香族基を含むジアゾニウム塩を 電気化学的に還元し、このジアゾニウム塩を非プロトン性溶媒に溶解させた溶液 に炭素材料を接触させ、かつ炭素材料に、やはりジアゾニウム塩溶液と接触して いるアノードとの関連で負の極性を付与することによって炭素材料表面に前記芳 香族基を固定することから成ることを特徴とする方法。
- 2.ジアゾニウム塩が式ArN2Xによって表わされ、その際Arは芳香族基で あり、Xはアニオンであり、ジアゾニウム塩の負の還元電位はジアゾニウム塩の 芳香族基に対応する遊離基Ar°の還元電位より低いことを特徴とする請求項1 に記載の方法。
- 3.ジアゾコウム塩のアニオンXをBF4−、HSO4−及びCl−の中から選 択することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 4.非プロトン性溶媒を、アセトニトリル、ジメチルホルムアミド、ジメチルス ルホキシド及びベンゾニトリルを含むグループの中から選択することを特徴とす る請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 5.ジアゾニウム塩溶液が第四アンモニウム塩またはりチウム塩から成る電解質 −支持体を含有することを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の方 法。
- 6.電解質−支持体がテトラアルキルアンモニウムテトラフルオロボレートであ ることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 7.ジアゾニウム塩の芳香族基が樹脂と直接反応し得る置換基を含むことを特徴 とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 8.置換基をNH2基、−CH=CH2基及び−CF=CF2基の中から選択す ることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の方法。
- 9.ジアゾニウム塩が4−アミノフェニルジアゾニウム塩であることを特徴とす る請求項8に記載の方法。
- 10.芳香族基が樹脂と反応し得る基を有する置換基に変換できる置換基を含む ことを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 11.置換基をNO2基、COCl基、COOH基及びCN基の中から選択する ことを特徴とする請求項10に記載の方法。
- 12.ジアゾニウム塩が4−ニトロフェニルジアゾニウム塩、4−カルボキシフ ェニルジアゾニウム塩、4−シアノフェニルジアゾニウム塩または4−ニトロナ フチルジアゾニウム塩であることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の方法。

- 15.樹脂もしくはポリマーが炭素繊維で強化された複合材料のマトリックスと して有用であることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の方法。
- 16.ジアゾニウム塩の芳香族基が錯生成活性を有するか、錯生成活性を有する 基に変換され得ることを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の方法 。
- 17.ジアゾニウム塩の芳香族基が導電性ポリマーの生成に有用なモノマーを有 することを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 18.ジアゾニウム塩の芳香族基が生物活性を有する置換基か、または生物活性 を有する分子と反応し得る置換基を含むことを特徴とする請求項1から6のいず れか1項に記載の方法。
- 19.炭素材料が炭素粉末、炭素繊維またはガラス状炭素プレートであることを 特徴とする請求項1から18のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 20.請求項1から19のいずれか1項に記載の方法で処理した炭素材料であっ て、その表面上に、該材料の表面炭素原子に炭素−炭素結合によって直接結合し た芳香族核を有することを特徴とする材料。
