(57) [Abstract] [Purpose] A first object is to provide an electrical connector having a contact terminal that does not come off when the cable is soldered. [Structure] The contact terminal 1 holds a core wire 12 on a side opposite to the contact part 4 and adjacent to the wire connection part 2, and holds the core wire 12 temporarily.
The holding portion 3 has a flat plate shape bent at an angle of inclination with respect to the connection surface, and is formed with a groove portion 6 which is opened toward the end. The groove portion 6 is formed at least at a part of the edge portion of the core wire 12. It has a narrow portion 7 having a groove width smaller than the diameter, and the core wire has a narrow portion 7.
After being inserted into the inner part of the groove part 6 through the above, the holding part 3 can be plastically deformed by the external force so as to narrow the groove width of the groove part 6 and hold the core wire 12.

た。2. Description of the Related Art In an electrical connector, contact terminals are embedded in an insulator. The contact terminal usually has a contact portion on one end side for connection with a contact terminal of a mating connector, and a connection portion for soldering a cable on the other end side. For example, as shown in FIG. 6 of the accompanying drawings, the connection portion of the contact terminal is partially cut away in parallel to the axis to form a semi-cylindrical portion 51, and the coating is removed at the end portion. The exposed core wire 52 of the cable was placed on the semi-cylindrical portion 51, and both were connected by solder. As another form, as shown in FIG. 7, a slit 54 is formed in the axial direction in a cylindrical connection portion 53, and the connection portion 5 is formed by the slit 54.
A method has also been used in which a core wire is inserted while elastically expanding the diameter of 3, and soldering is performed through the slit 54.

Further, even after the solder connection, the solder may be peeled off due to an external force when the connector is stored and handled during transportation, and the connection may be disconnected.

However, in order to hold the core wire at the connection portion 53, the inner diameter of the connection portion 53 is required to be substantially the same as the diameter of the core wire. In such a case, it is often the case that the core wire cannot be smoothly inserted into the connection portion 53 or is difficult to insert. In particular, when the core wire is formed by twisting a plurality of thin wires, some thin wires are untwisted and separated.

That is the first purpose. A second object is to provide an electric connector in which the contact portion of the contact terminal does not tilt or move even if the cable receives an external force after the solder connection.

A dielectric that is held inside, and the dielectric has an insertion hole that penetrates from the back to the front surface for receiving the contact portion, and two support points that support the connection portion on the side opposite to the connection surface. And the connection portion has a protrusion protruding toward the connection surface side between the two support surfaces, and the dielectric has a lid portion extending from the back surface and bendable from the extension base portion. However, the lid portion is formed with an abutting surface that abuts the protrusion when bent.
This is achieved by maintaining a bent shape of the lid portion by plastically deforming a part of the outer conductor.

A narrow portion is formed in the groove portion, and the core wire is pushed into the narrow portion and enters the inner portion thereof. At this time, the tip portion of the core wire comes to be located on the connection surface of the connection portion. Next, an external force is applied to the holding portion so as to narrow the groove portion to plastically deform the holding portion,
Hold the core wire. Then, the core wire is soldered to the connection surface.

The connecting portion is supported by the supporting surface of the dielectric at two points on the surface opposite to the connecting surface. In this state, a part of the outer conductor is plastically deformed to bend the lid portion of the dielectric body, and the contact surface of the dielectric body presses the protrusion formed on the connection portion. That is, since the connection part is supported by the projection on the connection surface side and at two positions sandwiching the projection on the opposite surface, the contact part is inclined even if the cable receives an external force. It never moves.

Is bent in the direction of arrow P. Due to the bending of the arm portion 24, the lid portion 27 of the dielectric 22 is also bent. Thus, the arm portion 24 is plastically deformed from its base portion into an L shape, and the holding piece 25 is caulked to the cable 1 and is held integrally as shown in FIG. The contact surface 29 formed on the inner surface of the lid portion 27 of the bent dielectric member 22 presses the top portion of the protrusion 8 to firmly hold the contact terminal 1 with the support surface 28, as shown in FIG. To do. At that time, in the lateral direction in FIG.
Since 8 is supported on both sides of the top of the protrusion 8, it is extremely reliable. The protruding portion 8 of the contact terminal is higher than the holding portion 3 and is not pressed by the lid portion 27.

Since the contact terminal is clamped and supported at the position, the contact portion is stable and reliable, neither tilted nor displaced due to the prying insertion / extraction of the mating connector or the external force applied to the cable. The connector can be connected.
