Conventionally, the copper molds commonly used to cast the above-mentioned copper anodes are prone to melting and damage as they are used because molten copper is cast into them, especially when the left and right hanging arms of the anode suspended on the bus bar during the electrolytic process are used. If the lower surface (so-called under the ear) becomes not smooth due to melting or deformation of the mold, there will be variations in verticality when the anode is suspended, causing problems such as deterioration of current efficiency.

In order to ensure that the lower surfaces of the hanging arms of the anode to be cast are always smooth and that there is no variation in verticality when suspended on a bus bar, this invention was developed using the copper mold that forms the lower surfaces of the left and right hanging arms of the anode. We propose a mold for manufacturing anodes in which square steel is embedded and fixed.

以下、本考案の実施例を図により説明する。 Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

Reference numeral 1 designates a mold body made of copper, in the center of which a recess 2 is formed into which molten copper is cast in order to cast the anode, and the lower surfaces of the left and right hanging parts 3, 3 of the anode to be cast are formed in the recess 2. Steel rectangular blocks 4, 4 are buried and fixed in the portions in contact with.

The present invention is constructed as described above, and since the lower surfaces of the left and right hanging arms, which are the most important parts of a cast copper anode, are formed from square steel, these parts can be finished smoothly and can be easily demolded. The obtained anode does not cause any variation in verticality when suspended on a busbar, which brings great benefits to improving the current efficiency in the electrolytic cell process. Since it is made of square steel, there is no risk of melting and damage of the part of the mold, so the life of the mold itself is extended, and the structure is extremely simple and excellent effects are achieved.
