Abstract

PURPOSE: To make gear phase adjustment easy, by rotating a gear by the pushing pressure of a spring.
CONSTITUTION: When it is necessary to operate phase adjustment on the gears fitted on both ends of a drum shaft, for example, in the case where there is a phase difference between lower gear 16, which is fastened with a key, and the key groove of lower drum shaft 4, and the teeth of upper gear 5 are not engaged with the teeth of lower gear 16, the teeth of upper drive gear 5 and the teeth of lower drive gear 6 are caused to engage by the pushing pressure of spring 13, and in this condition, compressed oil is sent from compressed liquid port 18 to compressed liquid passage 20 provided on side B of upper drum shaft 3. By this, the inner diameter of upper gear 15 is expanded and upper gear 15 is made idle with respect to upper drum shaft 3. At this time, due to the pushing pressure of spring 13, the teeth of idle gear 9 push the teeth of upper gear 15. Consequently, upper gear 15 rotates in the desired direction and engages with the teeth of lower gear 16. After the teeth of both gears 15 and 16 are engaged, remove the compressed oil, and fix upper gear 15 to upper drum shaft 3.
