Abstract

PURPOSE: To smooth the operations of blast furance bells by recovering the energies of the top gas of the blast furnace and directing the gas out from a dry type dust collector to an equalizing chamber.
CONSTITUTION: To recover the energies of top gas, a valve 19 is closed and 20 is opened, then the gas is released to the atmosphere by way of a dust catcher 6, dry type dust remover 12, energy recovery unit 13 and secondary dust remover 9. At the time of feeding iron making raw materials into a blast furnace 1, pressure adjustment of the equalizing chamber 4 inside along with opening and closing of upper and lower bells 2, 3 is accomplished in the following manner. To close the upper bell 2 and open the lower bell 3, a valve 17 is opened and a valve 18 is closed to direct part of the clean gas having been removed of dust into he equalizing chamber 4 by way of the valve 17 and pipes 15, 14. After the in-furnace pressure in 4 has been equalized, the lower bell 3 is opened. To close the bell 3 and open 2, the valve 17 is closed and 18 is opened to release the gas in 4 to the atmosphere and lower the pressure in the equalizing chamber 4, after which the bell 2 is opened. Hence, opening and closing of the bells 2, 3 are smoothly accomplished, the abrasion owing to gas leakage is less and the driving force required for opening and closing of the upper and lower bells can be less.
