Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:An 3-(1-imidazolyl)indolin-2-one of formula I: [R is H, halogen, alkyl, or alkoxy group; R' is H or R3 (R3 is alkyl, aryl, or acyl group); R2 is alkyl, phenyl-alkyl, aryl, acylmethyl, alkoxycarbonyl, thienyl, or imidazolyl group], and its pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt.
EXAMPLE: 3-(1-Imidazoly)3-phenyl-indolin-2-one.
USE: Antifungals, useful for medicines or animal drugs.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reacted with N,N'-thionyldiimidazole or N,N'-carbonylimidazole to give a compound of formula Ia having the imidazole group. In case R' is H in the compound of formula Ia, group R3 is introduced into the hydrogen at the N atom of the amide type to form a compound of formula Ib wherein R' is R3.
