Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide high cooling effect by flowing cooling water at high speed in a channel narrowly between a cylinder and a liner of an engine. CONSTITUTION:A liner 8 is inserted in a bore of a cylinder wall 7 and holds a piston, not illustrated in the drawing, freely sliding. A narrow cooling water channel C in the spiral state or the like is formed on the external wall of the liner 8. Cooling water fed from an inlet 23 flows in the channel C at high speed and is discharged from an outlet 22.
