Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture economically a disk with a proper amount of a lubricant by applying a sufficient amount of the surface lubricant on the magnetic coating of a magnetic disk and then by removing the excess of the abovementioned lubricant by dropping a solvent of the lubricant by the spin coating method.
CONSTITUTION: After the magnetic disk having a formed coating of a magnetic recording medium is applied with a sufficient amount of a surface lubricant (e.g., "Kleitocs "), the magnetic disk is turned by spindle 5 at about 300W1,000rpm, a solvent (isopropanol, Freon-based solvent, etc.) is dropped on surface 1 from dropping unit 2 to form a surface lubricant coating, and the excess of the lubricant is dissolved and removed by scattering by centrifugal force. The above-mentioned method can remove the excessive surface lubricant evenly in a short time without damaging the magnetic disk surface.
