Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce clean energy effectively by a method wherein a flow of ocean current and tidal current is contracted in vena contracta passage of a buoyant element by submarine power generating system, and atmospheric pressure and pressure caused by the depth of water are converted to a speed of current.
CONSTITUTION: A buoy 1 is cylindrical and forms a buoyant element from having a vena contracta passage 2 to contract a flow of ocean current and tidal current formed on the center line, bulbous water-wheel generator 3 installed thereon and a captive shaft 4 provided on the inlet side. In the drawing, 5 represents a rope, and 6 an anchor. Fig. A illustrates a case where the flow is given in the direction a, however, where the flow is inverted to that in the direction c, the buoyant element inclines as a backward sectional primary moment is larger than a forward one, a resultant force of buoyancy weight and drag of the buoyant element and a tension of the rope are balanced to hold a stable horizontal posture as shown in Fig. C2, thus producing clean energy effectively by submarine generating system.
