Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a thin and small-size inductor with high inductance optionally adjustable and suitable for mass production by a method wherein a flat circumferential conductive pattern connected via through holes are formed on an insulative substrate by printing.
CONSTITUTION: An insulative substrate 1 made of magnetic materials is extrusion- molded, and when half-dried through holes 2 are bored thereon. On both sides of the substrate 1, conductors 3, 4 and terminal conductors 6, 7 are printed, respectively, so that the conductors 3, 4 on both sides of the substrate are connected to each other via the through holes 2 to make a continuous conductive pattern which goes around the circumference of the substrate. A trimming conductor 5, for example, is printed for adjustment. Finally, a chip type inductor is formed by superimposing external terminals 8, 9 on the terminal conductors 6, 7, respectively, and then sintering it. By so doing, it becomes possible to obtain the thin and small- size inductor with high inductance optionally adjustable and suitable for mass production.
