Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of fuel and then ensure the running of the average fixed speed for the car, by deciding the fixed speed region based on the set car speed in case the constant speed running conditions is given and then repeating the acceleration deceleration and the inertial running between the upper and lower limit levels of the fixed speed region.
CONSTITUTION: The car speed signal of the frequency in accordance with the car speed is generated by car speed sensor 1, and the brake signal relating to the operation of the brake is generated by brake switch 2. Furthermore, the ascending slope signal is produced by ascending slope sensor 3. Then each of these generated signals is supplied to microcomputer 7 which functions as a control means. The fixed speed region is decided by the program of computer 7 and based on the set car speed, and the accelerating and decelerating running is given to the car through the control of the acceleration/deceleration control mechanism such as motor driving circuit 10, clutch driving circuit 9, etc. and until the speed of the car reaches the upper limit level from the lower limit level. And the accelerating/decelerating running is canceled by cancel switch 6 when the car reaches the upper the upper limit speed level, and the intertial running is maintained until the car reaches the limit speed level. Thus the quantity of the fuel consumption can be reduced.
