Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve resolution and sharpness by preventing ink drops from moving by using a recording medium that has a surface layer made of mixed lyophilic surface layers and lyophobic surface layers and having a smooth surface on either one side.
CONSTITUTION: When a nonporous recording medium such as an intermediate film and overhead projector original film is used, ink drops striking the recording medium slide on the recording medium surface and move from the striking positions, so that the resolution and sharpness of a picture are reduced. For this purpose, a recording medium that consists of mixed lyophilic surface layers (a) of less than 90° contact angle to ink and lyophobic surface layers (b) of more than 90° contact angle to ink and has a smooth surface on one side is used as an ink-jet recording medium. The area occupation rate of lyophilic surface layers (a) is preferably 2W 96%, and that of lyophobic surface layers (b) 98W4%.
