Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease vibration transmitted from the engine to the car body and to enhance quietness by a method wherein the arrangement of the positions of front, rear and side mounts to the power unit is improved, in the power unit being mounted sideways against a car body. CONSTITUTION:Power unit 1, including engine 1 itself, transmission 2, etc. is supported by the front cross member 3, the rear cross member 4, the frame 5, etc., with the mounting rubber placed between the unit and these parts. In this constitution, the front mount 6 and the rear mount 7 are positioned approximately on the vertical surface of forward and backward a-a line through the center of gravity G to the weight loaded on the mounting spring of power unit, and the mounting rubbers 6a and 7a are made to receive deformation in the shearing direction against pitching movement, nemaly the movement in the direction of the arrow sign. On the other hand, the side mount 8 is positioned approximately by the right side of the center gravity G, namely on the b-b line approximately crossing at right angles against the a-a line.
